Does he not know how to read the room? The American people wanted President Trump back in office with a Senate majority that could not be blocked by RINOs.

So, what do we get? A RINO who wants to be Majority Leader telling Trump to butt out?

He should be told by the members to sit down and shut up. It's not McConnell's Senate anymore.

Murk & Collins bolt and we don’t have a cushion to maintain control then nothing gets done except two years of political theater. A president normally had something like 18 months to accomplish something. The remaining time is spent defending it. A positive off-year Congressional result could give a new burst of activity. It would be a short period because in 12 months everyone is focused on the next election.

Murk and Collins are part of the environment and have to be dealt with “politically” as best you can. Cornyn is already signaling he’s a potential problem child. All the problem children will be watching how each other is treated politically and will act accordingly. That’s called politics!

I’d be surprised if any senator is not corrupt - If I was going to buy a politician I’d wouldn’t want a house or representatives member they are always running for re-election - no I’ve noticed with Senators they get several years to vote for their big donors before they tack back to the place they need to be to get re-elected. Senators are usually a good deal.
So we look for the least corrupt non rino who is smart and can organize and lead the majority.

You can have the most MAGA majority leader you want and his first actions in that position will be to raise the Debt Ceiling. There is no choice. It is anti conservative and people will posture about it, but there is no choice.

Susan Collins is 71. She is the ONLY senator who votes anti Trump that I give a pass. She is the only GOP senator who is not backstabbing her voters. She has held the Maine seat since the 1990s and done it with Maine voting blue for prez over and over.

Murkowski is scum. She backstabs red Alaska, and same for Romney, now forced to retire in disgrace.

All these other RINO senators should probably be rejected for majority leader, but make no mistake about this — a hard core MAGA majority leader is going to raise the debt ceiling.

After a while, most want to play, in order to get access to the goodies.

Things were less amenable to corruption when the state legislature appointed the state’s senators.

There’s good news. The Federal deficit for this year is expected to drop by some 30 percent compared to last year. That could be a whopping $65 billion reduction, and it happened without a tax increase. There’s also some disappointing news. The Congress, once again, has passed a bill that puts me in the position of accepting legislation with which I fundamentally disagree.

This decision is not easy. I have no choice but to sign this bill to guarantee the United States Government’s credit. But I also will not permit Congress to dismantle our national defense, to jeopardize arms reduction, or to increase your taxes. I am determined that will not happen.

Senator John Thune Requests President Trump “Stay Out of” the Senate Majority Leader Decision

Senator John Thune has been groomed by Mitch McConnell to be his replacement for decades.  Thune’s ascension to the role of Senate Majority Leader is essentially a foregone conclusion.

Senator Thune will carry the full support of roughly 15-to-20 senate DeceptiCons (deceptive conservatives), and perhaps a dozen more squishy ones in the middle who want great committee positions. The important dynamic that comes into play now is Senate Committee Chairman “leverage” for Donald Trump’s nominees.

Earlier today on CNBC Senator John Thune discussed the upcoming secret ballot election for Senate Majority Leader.

Senator Thune joins CNBC

Essentially, this is Thune’s gentle first shot requesting President Trump “stay out of” the senate caucus decision.  Likely, what matters most to President Trump is getting his nominees past the Republican majority confirmation process.  Thune was in previous talks with President Trump several months ago, and again several weeks ago in Mar-a-Lago.

Senator Thune doesn’t want President Trump to put his finger on the scale. If matters of the Senate are left alone, Thune ascends – period. However, Thune isn’t stupid and would like Trump to support him. Essentially, Thune would welcome intervention so long as the intervention came with an endorsement.

Thune wants to be Senate Majority Leader.  President Trump wants all of his ‘advise and consent’ nominees to glide through confirmation.

We should look for President Trump to endorse Thune; generally, that would indicate terms have been agreed and we can be optimistic.  However, if we do not see an endorsement from President Trump, or if Trump endorses someone else, then we should watch out for full DeceptiCon opposition in the Senate from here on out.

A lot of the dynamic exists without any outside influence.  The two positioned candidates are John Thune (SD) and John Cornyn (TX).  Thune is heavily favored and likely has an easy inside track.  The number of MAGA senators is around ten, not really enough to block any organized leadership challenge.

Our MAGA movement benefits from appointments gaining confirmation.  President Trump well understands the negotiations and maneuvering that will be needed to get the right committee chairs and members in place.
