My point was that one should afford him the opportunity to surrender. He obviously rejected that opportunity. Once captured and IDENTIFIED he could be executed as a terrorist or guerilla.
They daid, mostly. I guess Heidi wants their KIA deaths investigated, too.
As J.D. Vance would say, are you listening to what you are saying Heidi? People die in rock fights. And when the "Palestinians" throw stones they are not throwing pebbles, they are throwing paving block size stones. What is the appropriate size for a rock thrown at your face, full force, Heidi? Is it okay if supporters of Israel drive by you house and throw stones anytime day or night? If not what are the appropriate times and size of stones?
One fellow I knew of in Kiryat Arba was driving along Highway 60 with his two-year-old son in the car seat next to him. Terrorists pulled up, threw a great big stone through the window, and their car swerved and turned over. Both father and son killed in the crash.
Did she call for an investigation when Bin Laden was killed? He wasn’t firing at anyone at the time - just hiding.
But I know. I know. It’s fashionable nowadays to accuse Israel of war crimes (and everything else people can think of). She’s just playing it “woke.” Time for Israel to “give a little.” Right?
Unbelievable what she said...
““We are now witnessing the weaponization of evidence of sexual violence to generate public condemnation for Hamas and corroborate the necessity for Israel’s stated war aim of Hamas’ total destruction.””
IDF is under no lawful obligation to ‘capture’ any of these terrorists short of them having a white flag, the universal sign of surrender. That is how you execute that opportunity. Short of that, no. Identification isn’t required, anyone carrying a weapon on the Hamas team has no rights under LOAC.
A little rape never hurt anyone. Decapitation is a great way to lose weight./sarc
I wholeheartedly agree. I was trying to refute the “perfesser”’s argument. Had he clearly shown an intention to surrender, she might have a some ghost of a rationale. His behavior on the battlefield, in plain sight, showed he was dangerous and resisting surrender. I am glad he is dead, and in similar circumstances I would not have been as reserved as the IDF. I would have ordered an airstrike on the building he was hiding in.
When they use “murder” in the headline you can stop reading right there.
You need to read the rest of the sentence:
this is why Israel claims Sinwar was killed while trying to escape.
She's saying Israel (falsely) claims that Sinwar was trying to escape, that he was for that reason a legitimate target. She goes on to argue that he was in fact NOT escaping or a threat. I guess she was right there and saw everything as it happened.🙄
The only way a combatant is not a legitimate target is if he is clearly and unambiguously attempting to surrender. He was not. She is a liar and a fool.
No doubt about that!
