I’ve thought about several angles:
1) They want to make sure Kamala loses. This seems unlikely.
2) In the event KH “wins”, Dems intend unleash massive suppression of free speech on anything they don’t like, and pretend the public knew that censor was part of the program, and voted for it. “We have a mandate to protect the children...”
3) They are proxies for Harris, saying exactly what she wants in policy terms. Like everything else, she wants to be free from accountability and not say it on the record. But all the Dem oligarchs are frustrated that a free flow of information limits their power. Can’t allot the peasants to have thoights of their own.
4) They have censorship on their brains because they are neck deep in doing it via the social media manipulators.
5) What the IC is up to is scary as hell. They are going to spring something nearer election time, or after they steal it for Harris.
2 through 5, with a side order of #1 due to jealousy, thinking THEY should be the candidate.
