For a couple of years I have noticed some democrats using the word “folks” and thinking it was a slightly off-putting and noticeable attempt to be folksy and down to earth, just a touch jarring to the ear when a president or vice-president uses it or other powerful and rich dem politicians use it, and then I read this article and google it.
