REPORT: DOJ Likely to Announce Indictments Against Iranian Suspects for Hacking President Trump’s Electronic Communications

This stuff is so predictable.  A person would think the DOJ-NSD would make an effort not to just reuse their prior playbook.  Alas, specifically because the IC silos are run by bureaucratic idiots, they just end up rehashing anything that works.

TODAY IN DC:  A grand jury has indicted multiple Iranians on charges related to hacking Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The federal charges stem from an Iranian operation that allegedly stole internal Trump campaign communications this summer, according to three people familiar with the investigation who were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.

The names of the defendants and the specific criminal charges were not immediately available. A grand jury secretly approved the indictment on Thursday afternoon. The Justice Department is expected to announce the charges as soon as Friday.

[…] This month, U.S. security agencies released an unusual statement saying Iranians sent material stolen from the former president’s campaign to people linked to Biden’s reelection team (which later morphed into Harris’ campaign). The statement said there is no sign the recipients responded.

Former President Donald Trump didn’t mince words Wednesday at a rally in North Carolina after being warned about ongoing Iranian efforts to assassinate him.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence met with Trump and his campaign on Tuesday, according to an ODNI spokesman. While the agency declined to discuss specifics, the former president’s campaign said the meeting involved “real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.”

During his rally in Mint Hill, North Carolina, Trump echoed that statement and sent a stark warning to Tehran about what he would do if he were president and a leading candidate was under threat.

“If I were the president, I would inform the threatening country, in this case, Iran, that if you do anything to harm this person, we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens. We’re going to blow it to smithereens,” the former president said to cheers.

“There would be no more threats,” Trump continued. “But right now, we don’t have that leadership or the necessary people, the necessary leaders.”

The charges include identity theft, wire fraud, and computer fraud.

It reveals how Iran stole debate prep material from the Trump campaign and and tried to send it to the Biden camp on the day of the first, and only, debate between then.

Obfuscation. Crooks and Roueth had nothing to do with Iran. Crooks had encrypted Telegram accounts but no Mudslime connex, he was an an-hero ("anti-hero", this is more or less suicide-by-cop while trying to draw negative attention to yourself and embarrass your family).

Attempting to put Iran's fingerprints on these two is pure misdirection. These two were compelled by Democrat direction "danger to democracy", and Roueth almost certainly had a direct handler.

Vice president and Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has set an impressive bar for word salad. But in one recent, exceptional statement, she was crystal-clear in her ignorance:

In addition to ignoring U.S. troops offshore serving in combat situations, she and her MSM cheering squad have overlooked the most direct threat from a nation-state on American soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor. But finally, the truth will out.

Even NBC and many other mainstream domestic and international news organizations have now reported on the state of Iran having an ongoing attempt to try and kill our former president and commander-in-chief, Donald Trump.
