Much like the alphabet people's takeover of the rainbow the US Military Sealift Command has used these colors for decades and has nothing to due with the current use of the colors by the mentally ill social media people and AI bots.
A small anecdote: While on a college campus, some lily white youngster tried the "you're racist" on me. I'd made no references to race at all, while she talked about race, race and race. I smilingly observed she was the one talking about race consistently, and therefore was the actual racist. She was not pleased. But she did walk off in a huff.

Yes. I was among a group of Freepers who examined that USS Fitzgerald decision in significant depth, it went on for some months as more data came in, and it was appalling in the extreme. I couldn’t believe that some kind of spat between people contributed to that collision.
