Marysville. A beautiful town back in 1968, but even then there were bums all over the place. Just across the river from Yuba City where Juan Corona murdered so many migrant workers in the years around 1970. No guns involved.

I’m guessing they are not raving loony leftists. Marysville is in Yuba county, a rural area in the Sierra. Most of rural California is MAGA.

I searched around a bit on the Net and couldn’t find any party affiliation for the Mayor.
But from comments made by him after the incident, he doesn’t sound like a Dem. Marysville is also in Yuba County, one of the few dependable GOP counties in California. On the local level, Marysville is represented in the Legislature by a GOP state senator and a GOP state house member.

According to one report, mayor thinks this type of behaviour is unacceptable and is looking for ways to clean up homeless encampments. He also thinks that lawlessness is because of lax prosecution and penalties. He is retired businessman. Doesn’t sound like a leftie or progressive.

If he wasn’t mayor, the police would have arrested him and let the homeless perp go.
Before I would deign to comment I would want to know who the good councilman Belza voted for in the last election for Governor of California and President of the US.
I don’t care if Belza was a lefty or hard right, guys who do this need to be lined up against the wall and shot. If that happened even once in that county I would bet big money it would not happen again for a half century.

Marysville/Yuba city-the ‘twin cities’ as they were called in the 70’s when the total population was 25k. Beale AFB. The front gate was miles from the main part so that the airmen wouldn’t qualify for remote pay. Deadsville. As for Juan Corona those migrant farm workers really discriminated against those from another part of Mexico-sick.

That gate is no longer used. Mostly because it was too close to the main runway for the U2’s.
