DeWine is a RINO. I saw the interview with him on Fox. I didn't realize he personally supports a charity in Haiti. His personal connections as well as his donors support the influx of cheap labor. DeWine views the Haitians as victims and he is sending state aid to help them more than the Americans who live there.

Ohio Gov. DeWine’s deep connections to Haiti inform response to Springfield controversy

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s experience with Haiti and Haitians goes far beyond his current efforts to manage issues — ranging from baseless rumors to genuine concerns — related to the recent sudden influx of Haitian immigrants to Springfield.

The Republican governor has an extensive connection to Haiti. In 1998, DeWine and his wife, Fran, began their support of the Becky DeWine School, named after the DeWines’ daughter who was killed in a 1993 car accident at 22 years old.

The school was situated in a slum known as Cite Soleil in Haiti capitol Port Au Prince and run by a charity that had long been supported by the DeWines. Mike and Fran DeWine in 2013 traveled to Haiti to commemorate the school’s first graduating class.

Gang violence has forced the school to temporarily close repeatedly throughout its existence, though the governor’s office said the school is currently operating. It’s run by Haiti humanitarian Father Tom Hagan, a friend of DeWine’s who delivered an invocation before the governor took the oath of office following his reelection.

A previous Dayton Daily News report relayed that the school had an enrollment of roughly 5,000 students and served just under 10,000 meals a day and was pivotal in shaping his perspective on Haiti.

“Our mission is not to save Haiti, because that’s beyond us. But we can affect one child at a time. Our goal is to help that child survive and have a meaningful life. By accident of birth these kids were born in Haiti instead of Beavercreek. Some of the kids don’t make it, and some of them drop out, but we provide an opportunity for success,” DeWine said at the time.

Very interesting that Springfield is the diversion this week from the obvious ABC fact checking fiasco.

More specifically, dogs and cats being eaten.

I wish this subject didn’t even get mentioned.

THAT allows them to take the focus off the real problem of dumping 20,000 illegals into a small city and then forcing that city to focus all relief efforts on that illegal community, thus preventing local government from being able to deal with anyone. Totally swamped at this point.

Very Cloward-Piven of them.

Now it’s all about the jokes and not the terrible pain the Biden-Harris administration has caused in yet another American community.

As noted on ABCs recap Martha Radditz did a few but never admitted the poor job done at the debate

Typical we did do something without really addressing the bigger issue

Bingo on De Wine. Saw him spell out his connection on another show.

Moderator did a good job of knowing his connection but leveraging him to go anti animal issues and demean Trump and Vance by doing so

They aren’t smart enough to know that team Trump is pointing out the issues of immigration and even these “ legal” loopholes that DeWine is leveraging

Gov Dewine is RINO scum and corrupt all the way IMHO. There was a scandal re Haiti where his family charity was allegedly pilaging like Clintons did., as well as child trafficking under cover of a “free” school. He possibly resolved the heat by resettling Haiti’s wretched refuse to little ole Springfield which is an hour’s drive on Rt 70 west of Columbus. Dewine is also no fan at all of Trump or Vance, so he can GTH.

“I wish this subject didn’t even get mentioned.”

Not sure the Springfield Haitian issue would even be known to millions without the “pet hook”.

Putin playing the dare me game very effectively

Unfortunately, it is not a game. We didn't believe that Putin's red line for NATO expansion would lead to the second invasion. Ignoring/crossing this new red line could lead to a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia--both armed with nuclear weapons. The unintended consequences of this escalation could prove fatal for all involved. Where is the call for a ceasefire and negotiations?

I have been following the reaction of Europeans to this latest red line. Despite the European leaders' hardline support of Ukraine, most of the people and some rogue members of parliaments don't want to escalate the conflict.

Polish MEP Grzegorz Braun on Antony Blinken visiting Poland today:

"Blinken, go home as soon as possible. Get lost! We don't want you here. We don't want Polish people paying and dying for your wars."

The recent elections in France and Germany show that both left and right are more supportive of negotiations than escalating the war. It is the reason why the UK and US are now backing away somewhat from their militant positions. A number of NATO allies are calling for more restraint.

Ukraine missile request under discussion - Lammy

The foreign secretary has insisted no single weapon can win a war, as he said the UK was still discussing with allies whether to allow Ukraine to fire long-range missiles into Russia.

David Lammy told the BBC it was important that countries supporting Ukraine had "a shared strategy to win".

Ukraine already has supplies of long-range missiles from the UK, the United States and France but at the moment it is only allowed to fire them at targets within its own borders.

President Zelensky has been pleading for months for these restrictions to be lifted so Ukraine can use them against targets inside Russia.

There have been strong indications that the US and UK are poised to change their position.

However, no confirmation came after talks between Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden in Washington on Wednesday.

Pressed over whether the delay in lifting restrictions on the use of long-range missiles was emboldening Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mr Lammy told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg programme: "No war is won with any one weapon."

He refused to confirm whether the UK and its allies were planning to allow missiles to be used against targets in Russia.

But he added: "This is under careful discussion with the Ukrainians, as we assess what they need as they head into the winter."

Lammy said the UK and other allies would be meeting President Zelensky at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in less than 12 days' times and suggested the issue would be discussed then.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey said Ukraine should be allowed to use long-range missiles to attack military bases inside Russia, even if the UK had to act "unilaterally".

Asked whether the UK would "go it alone" and lift restrictions without US support, Lammy told the BBC "it’s important that as allies supporting Ukraine we have a shared strategy to win going forward".

The last time we were this close to a nuclear exchange was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Both sides blinked. I don't get the impression that the Biden national security team understands the gravity of the situation nor does the MSM, which has barely covered the story. This s not the case in Europe where this story has received much more coverage.

Wars have their own momentum. I am reminded of the words of Bethmann von Hollweg, the German Foreign Minister, who supposedly said the outbreak of WWI, was due to "a scrap of paper."

They couldn’t know much about Haiti or they would realize that law and order always come first in haiti otherwise its the wild west and anything goes. I was there just before anything goes and its not a pretty sight.

Agree. This debate over Haitians eating pets has helped draw attention to what is happening nationwide. Placing 32,000 Haitians in a town of 58,000 over a short period of time is a disaster. The city’s infrastructure cannot support it.

The haitians come from a different world and don’t belong here un supervised. They clearly can not self rule so you can expect anything since they have no compass.
