There was an obviously gay boy in my high school, more than fifty years ago.

He hung out with the rest of the music-oriented kids, and I never heard of anyone bullying him or doing a thing to him, except talking behind his back.

Which if he was aware of it, he certainly didn’t seem bothered by it, because he wasn’t shy about hanging around the same kids who did it.

The boy was not gay. The media proselytized and he thought he was gay because everyone told him that's how to be "cool". If the boy had been home-schooled and hung around with Godly people all this would never have happened.

Yes. Assuming he was bullied, the kids bullying him were trying to kill him. Having been the victim of extreme bullying, I can argue that it is an act of self defense to put a stop to bullying by putting an end to the bullies. You are saving your own life as well as the life of those the bully is trying to kill.

There were gay kids when I was in HS but no one bothered them because everyone was afraid of contracting AIDS which was still making the rounds and every was afraid like during Covid.

Yea it was same in my school they were talked about behind their backs, mostly “stay way or you will get the AIDS”.
