"It also is nobody’s business what the employee does on his or her own time."

I agree with that and in a perfect world that is true however, drugs and alcohol can effect a persons behavior and decision making abilities long after they have stopped drinking or in the case stopped smoking.

In places like HD when heavy items are stacked and stored in upper storage areas it might not be the best idea to have someone coming off a bender or someone who spent the night before pulling on their beefy bong with some monster kush running the forklift...just saying.

That’s what the writer said. The memo says an accident or suspicious behavior triggers a drug test.

Will watch it when I get home.

Thank you.

I took the class a couple of Saturdays ago for something I had been meaning to do for too long.

Great class, down to earth instructor.

I haven’t been on any heavy equipment since the late teen years of the 80s, mainly dozer, loader, and farm tractors of different types.

Course 1 around the cones was easy except me me getting the hang of backing up around them.

Course 2 was two rows of cones that involved figure eights forward and reverse.

I am glad I went.

The memo says an accident or suspicious behavior triggers a drug test.

That's not what I read:

"The directive from the human resources department said the company will also ban testing for marijuana following a workplace accident and in cases where there’s reasonable suspicion that an employee was impaired, according to the site."

HD boss to his forklift operator — “Are you marijuana certified?”

FO — “Yes boss. I smoke a joint before work and a few after work, when I go out drinking and playing pool with my buddies”

HD Boss — “Great, you are good to go. Now go stack those pallets of toilets on the top rung of the shelving in the back.”

Forklifts and weed don’t mix well.

VERY BIG MISTAKE.

IF EMPLOYEE handling FORKLIFT or other items has an accident & tests positive for drugs-—INSURANCE will NOT PAY.

IF EMPLOYEE HARMS A CUSTOMER——THE LAWSUIT WILL BE HUGE.

WORKER’S COMP INSURANCE COMPANIES DEMAND DRUG FREE ENVIRONMENT.

I DO NOT BLAME THEM.

I wonder what their Workmen’s Comp Insurance says?

400,000 employees and NO WORKMEN’S COMP === a very big problem.

There’s a good reason why Lowe’s loses market share and profits year over year. They’re a garbage company ran by mini tyrants who abuse their employees relentlessly. Trust me your moving isn’t impacting HD one bit.

Arthur Blank, one of the founders of Home Depot is a major donator to the democrat party. The other founder is a Republican. Ken Langone is a big Trump supporter. The president and CEO of Lowe’s is liberal Democrat who has 60% of his managers minorities and women.

IF there is a ‘workplace accident”, I AM pretty CERTAIN the Workmen’s Comp INSURANCE requires drug test.

NOT something the company controls.

Just another side effect of the leftification of our country through pot. There’s a reason society sought to keep this drug from being mainstreamed.

I have NEVER had a bad experience at LOWE’S .

Always had employees who tried to find what I need.

Lots of Manufactured homes where I live. THEY USE DIFFERENT items than regular house-—then down to the strainer baskets in the sinks.

LOWE’S by me has a separate section just for those manufactured homes items.

When I bought this property over 19 years ago, I had a 2 page list of small ITEMS-—IT to picture hangars, etc.

I stopped at the “Contractor’s Desk” at Lowe’s for directions. The guy there looked at my list & said-—follow me.

HE stayed with me until the entire list was handled—about 45 minutes.

I checked out at OVER $600—but I GOT PERSONAL ESCORT SERVICE.

If you want a labor supply then barriers to employment must be changed in favor of hiring employees.

Major mistake for Home Depot getting high isn’t the only bad habit stoners have.
