Someone should figure out how a ranking NCO in a 24 year Guard role and probably with at least a Secret clearance, could spend 2 years teaching in Communist China, make another 30 trips mol to Communist China, and do training, pull drill weekends, and 2 weeks of duty annually.

Correction. A master sergeant is at pay grade E-8. A first sergeant is also an E-8. A sergeant major can be a staff sergeant major or a command sergeant major, both of which are pay grade E-9.
