After tossing Jewish voters overboard to accommodate the Hamas supporters of Dearborn, Michigan,
Democrats are starting to get nervous about the choice they made.
Beginning with Schumer’s delirious speech in the Senate blasting Israel, and various liberal Jewish surrogates, including Rep. Jerry Nadler, vocally opposing the campaign against Hamas, the Democrats did not manage to sell Jews on Biden’s betrayal.
Biden’s declaration that he would stop providing military support to Israel if it continued to pursue Hamas into Rafah touched off a major backlash from mega-donors, like Haim Saban, from celebrities, like Michael Rappaport, who has said he could vote for Trump, in addition to ordinary Jewish donors.
There’s no accurate polling of Jewish voters because there are too few Jews in much of the country to be captured by conventional polls (polls surveying Jews are usually run by simpatico leftist groups), so Democrats have suddenly begun to sweat the Jewish vote.

The Forward, for those who might not know, is a Leftist rag. Saying that not nominating Shapiro “avoids” a controversy is just pathetic. It doesn’t “avoid” it. It capitulates to it - with the one caveat that there’s no way Shapiro could have survived on that ticket without announcing out loud that he had abandoned everything he’s ever said about Israel (except that he hates Bibi, which is the bare minimum required of anyone to be invited into polite company).
My own view is that Waltz is very good news for the continuing project of getting the Jews to remember that, as the original creators of Western Civilization, their natural home is with the Republicans.

Walz is a safe choice for someone who stands for all the wrong things. He doesn’t stick out on “sensitive” issues like Israel or criminals. He’d be mixed into word salad very easily. So now you have a ticket that appeals to the muzzlimes in one state and anyone else who gets excited by nothingness.

As I understand it, anti-Israel Jews never vote for Republicans anyway so I don’t see how pandering to them helps Harris.
There are many Pro- Israel Jrws who would have stayed with Shapiro but will now stay home orvote for Trump.
