Smuggled as in stolen maybe?
Might could be. Or purchased but neglected to bribe the right person?
Well it’s actually a response to the thefts being practiced by western governments under the guise of sanctions. You can expect the same from Russia soon in response to the theft and the giving to the enemy of their sovereign assets they entrusted to western banks.
Sanctions on Iran are broad, numerous, and very old.
Russia was MFN and attracted favorable treatment as an FDI destination. Until it started being a bad boy.
BTW, it was extremely stupid of Russia (its national leaders and associated oligarchs) to “export” so much of its national income, instead of reinvesting it in Russia.
It’s likely that if it had reinvested, there wouldn’t have been an urge to rip off its neighbors.
So to you, Russia went into Ukraine because they didn’t have enough money? Seems like more of a western problem and solution. Doesn’t matter if don’t don’t like them or what they did. theft is theft.
Russia (Putin) went into Ukraine to grab land and resources, effectively a huge case of armed robbery.
They thought they could get away with it.
In the meantime they had allowed their oligarchs to siphon off enormous sums to park abroad. If this had been reinvested in Russia it would have caused a vast increase in non-extractive economic activity and a huge improvement in the standard of living. Russia would have been too busy to make war.
It was a combination of greed and perceived weakness of the victim and the international order. The mugger in the dark thought his mark was a helpless little old lady, and the policemen were drunk and sleeping it off.
A misjudgement, on the whole. The little old lady was way tougher than expected, and the policemen, if rather confused, weren’t entirely comatose.
well tell you what, you just keep those plates of “truth” spinning on your long stick. While you are doing that take a good look at western enterprise in countries that were entered under force and see how many business are draining the resources of those countries at cut rate prices under the guise of “peace keeping”.
North of the Persian Gulf? I wonder how that works? Was the tanker traveling on land?
Yup. On wheels. It was a Gulf cart. Or perhaps Benari meant North of the mouth (?) of the Persian Golf.
Now that's cute!
Thats true. We seized an Iranian tanker off Venezuela for one example. Bottom line, DC want a war with Iran and was bitter that Trump denied that last time. They only have a few months to get it going.
Is Togo going to war with Iran over this?
that’s what I’m afraid of. Some hastily put together, ill-thought-out act to look strong on national security.
Yup. Their canoes are greased up, and the rowers are flexing right now. Watch out, you Ayatollahs.
The more hasty and ill-thought-out the act, the better from their standpoint. ‘cuz it’ll royally screw Trump. The Deep State has all the depth of a classroom full of retarded ten year olds.
I’m not so sure. If people start thinking seriously about who they would rather have in a war, I doubt Harris would be the one to come to mind. But if they are going for a no election thing...
They’ll light the fire after the election and before Trump’s inauguration. Ooopsie. If Kamala gets selected, they’ll have better planned wars, designed to last forever. But Trump gets sucked into a nasty one and nothing he can do about it.
