I too was angry with Bibi for his rush to congratulate Biden on his “victory” when the outcome was still being challenged by Trump and others, and I still am.”

Bibi is an incredibly shrewd politician. Probably tactically it was a very good move, as the worm had turned and Bibi instinctively knew he would have to kiss Biden’s ring for the next 4 years in order to protect Israel as best he could from domestic politics under Biden. Especially considering the Biden ambivalent, to say the least, attitude because of the very radicalized new Hamas loving Dem left.

It was his kissing up to Biden early in the game that allowed the “benevolent” Biden to protect Israel militarily when Hamas initially struck. Imagine what Biden’s reaction would have been if Bibi had initially expressed any hostility when the Biden Admin illicitly took power in 2020 by stealing the election. Biden would have hung Israel out to dry after the Hamas attack in short order as he is a vindictive and mean, demented excuse for a man.

Prez Trump I’m sure knows only too well that Bibi’s gov’t has been at the mercy of Biden’s ambivalence towards Israel in light of his dependence on pro-Hamas policy due to his dependence on the Muslim vote, especially in Michigan.

Kamala will be ten times worse than Biden. Bibi and Israel’s goose will be cooked if Kamala wins and the Dems keep both houses of Congress. Trump will back Bibi 100 percent as President, as that is his nature. He is honorable; Biden is amoral.

I understand the need for Bibi to have cordial relations with America’s president, whether that be Trump or Biden, but there were other options he could have chosen. He could have said nothing, which is what most word leaders were doing at the time.

Or he could have said something like “I’m confident that, America and Israel will continue to have a strong relationship whether it’s Trump or Biden at the helm. As there are still some legal challenges that are taking place, I’m going to let the American legal system sort that out.”

Understand that Bibi didn’t know what the outcome would be from Trump’s legal challenges. Trump may have remained in office for all he knew. But instead of being diplomatic and remaining neutral, he decided to put his thumb on the scale and stab a very pro-Israel President in the back. I’m not saying that Bibi’s early congratulations of Biden made a difference in the ultimate outcome, but it was still a disloyal and despicable thing he did.

Having said that, I stand by my original point. If Trump can talk to Kim and Xi, he can and should talk to the Prime Minister of Israel. What he says to him, is another matter.

I see it differently Bibi knew instantly the existential threat the new Biden Admin would pose to his beloved Israel. He went into direct Machiavelli mode; hold your enemies closer.

I see it differently. Bibi’s relationship with Biden wouldn’t have suffered any significant damage had he just waited to comment or commented in a manner like I described. Do you really believe that Biden’s attitude towards Israel would have change from supportive to hostile had Bibi waited a few days before weighing in, as most other world leaders did? I’m not buying it.

And now, particularly since last October, we have a lot more history to examine regarding Biden’s attitude towards Israel. It’s hardly been supportive. On the other hand he hasn’t totally throw Israel under the bus, unlike others in his party. In fact he’s been a pretty consistent fence straddler regarding the Hamas/Israeli conflict. And he hasn’t waivered in this neutral position despite strong attempts from both sides to get him to change. To suppose that Biden’s Middle East policy has been significantly effected by Bibi’s decision to offer early congratulations rather than to wait a few weeks is unrealistic.

Late 19th, early/mid 20th century. Different times. Obviously Harry was comfortable with it. There was a Hollywood producer or maybe author or newscaster who had the same experience, at home. Truman did have Jews to the White House. Personal quarters probably not, but I don’t think that was an issue till Bill Clinton started renting the Lincoln Bedroom out.

Speaking of the late 19th, early/mid 20th century, there's a story about the time someone told Groucho Marx his son couldn't go in a Hollywood pool because he was Jewish. Groucho quipped "Well, he's only half-Jewish - can he go in up to his waist?"
