I’m starting to wonder when what Russia did over there became our issue? This is what happens when we continue to meddle in the affairs of far away lands. And to see FReepers orgasmic at the potential of war and speaking to Putin through messaging boards is absolutely hilarious. He gives two flying effs what anyone thinks. Here’s a thought, how about we stay in our lane and let him do what he wishes. We’ve meddled in the affairs of others for far too long and where has it gotten us?

Trillions in debt. In the words of Dr.Phil, “how’s that working out for ya!?”

WW III the ultimate stop Trump move. With a big shooting war who will support MAGA? We must support the troops fighting in the many fronts of “Freedom” From Alaska to Capetown, Kiev to Seoul. Rationing, draft, war bonds, parades, air raid drills, Press gangs, internment camps for any non-patriots like those pesky Trump people. Few rights for the duration. “Don’t you know there’s a war on?” Good news, the churches will all be full, so will the cemeteries.

Hell, we’ve probably SAVED storage and scrapping costs on some of the old weapons sent to Ukraine. But, in any event, the Euro’s are spending far more to support Ukraine than we are, and their economies are generally in much worse shape than ours. Economic stress is the major factor in the election results we just saw in the UK and France. Which is crazy, because leftist policies generally set the foundations for these current economic stresses in the 1st place, and then this war (and some “other stuff” like the Red Sea situation) just exacerbated the problems.

Going MORE leftist than the outgoing Tories (already way left compared to the US middle), is, for example, VERY unlikely to help the UK’s economy, but who said most UK and French voters are sensible?

Trump really needs to be more careful with some of his statements, because in this case sooner or later some irate prominent Euro pol is going to stuff the Ukraine money numbers back down Trump’s throat, and Trump will have no good response. That’s the last thing we need right before the election...

Maybe we deport illegals to Ukraine, they could help out.

“I think the left will make the country ungovernable the whole time.”

Where the heck have you been? They’ve been working on that since the Clintons got in.

I forgot today was the standard weekly “test day”

I’m loading a few things in the washer then the sirens went off (on a clear, sunny day)

To accomplish that they'll have to kill off or run off most of the Ukies under 40 or so.

Do you seriously think the younger Ukrainian men want to keep fighting?

I actually know a number of them who were in the computer field before they got conscripted.

Yes - they will fight to defend their homeland.

No - they would not want to continue fighting if Russia left and kept the same borders are prior - with the condition that Ukraine remains a neutral country.

Maybe the US just needs to drop out of Nato and let European countries handle the entire matter with Russia and Ukraine on their own.

Now, I would be the first to agree that Hilarity’s role in the half-assed and half-committed interventions in Syria and Libya were disastrous. Iraq was bound to be a problem with an Obama as follow-up guy. Etc.

But, OMG. Europe?? My goodness, at the end of WW2, nobody would have thought Europe on its own would stay relatively stable for roughly 7 decades. And they’d have been exactly right. WE changed that, to our great advantage, not even to mention the probable saving of tens if not hundreds of millions of lives, including many Americans, some time, or over time, in the interim.

That started falling apart as we weakened.

If you can’t see that, or see that fundamentally nothing has really changed except our weakness (Trump is right about that), you are too hopeless to even be worth the discussion. Its not your fault, I suppose, you are just another example of our failed educational system.

*If Ukraine completely falls to Russia guess what we save money. We won’t have to rebuild Ukraine with American tax dollars. That will be Russia’s problem. Life will go on in the USA as if nothing ever happened.*

Never thought of that. Congrats.

I usually try not to post to Ukraine/Russia threads because well you know Hatfields vs McCoys. But no one has ever given a good explanation of what the strategic importance of Ukraine is to the US.

But when you compare Ukraine to Taiwan its Apples and Oranges. Taiwan's strategic importance is obvious. I wish it weren't but US policy over the years of providing money to offshore chip manufacturing was crazy. Now we don't have the Fabs here that can make cutting edge chips.

If you are holding onto Nvidia stock you better hope the Chicoms don't go after Taiwan. Your portfolio is going to tank if that happens.

Make up your mind which lies to repeat. First Ukraine is too corrupt for NATO, in which case this war was a contrived ruse. Now they’re spiraling downward into NATO and nothing anyone can do about it, in which case the war was about making war against Ukraine more difficult for Vlad, which is moot, because it’s already on. I suspect it was a contrived ruse between both Brandon the Flailer and Vlad the Impaler. Part of WEF’s Great Reset. For a very revealing take on Ukraine’s aspirations and reality, see Sluga Narodu Season 2 and what VZ did at the end of the season to the rotten deal the WMF was trying to push on Ukraine.

“The vapid name calling with no substance behind the retorts is very leftist.

I try very hard to not engage in that and take it that everyone is operating in good faith.

Do you know what else is very leftist?

Scaring the daylights out of their voters perpetually. Everything is all or nothing all the time and mere existence depends on it.

Oddly similar to touting WWIII is coming tomorrow for going on three years to no avail.”

Well said.

I would add that Saul Alinsky (and Lenin) are smiling at these pundits.

Which of those WERE NOT part of Greater Russia that Communist Party Chairman Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev granted to Ukraine?

And which side do you think will launch the firt strike “After’ Russia has taken over Ukraine?

Well, if Russia does take Ukraine, the NATO countries will push back, and Russia will retaliate with their N-bombs. That's the threat from Russia, and it's not HATO which threatens with nuclear strikes. Pay attention!

If NATO does prevent Russia from taking Ukraine, it's Russia that will strike a NATO country, which will trigger WW3. Don't forget that, Russia is the aggressor country in the region. Tell 'your friend' to pay attention.

I’ve been a member here since TankerKC noticed the Bush ANG memos were false. Had lurked long before then signed up that night.

Some angry mod named onyx banned that account when I said Sarah Palin wasn’t going to run for President so I disappeared for years.

Strange seeing pretty much the same posters here without really any new members. I suggest you check my posting history, Laz (who hits it).
