Thank you for finding and posting. I knew I’d read this somewhere. Yep, 25th amendment. Great guy, that Pompeo.
I think we have a lot of new trolls on FR.
No limp wrist like Pence.
There are a lot of reasons to like Tulsi Gabbard, but some disqualifiers too:
For one thing, last I looked she was awfully “green”. (environmental policies)
Gabbard talks a lot about freedom, and seems to have “flipped” somewhat on the 2nd Amendment (much more “pro” 2A) but is she really solid on the 2A?
How would she go about reducing the role of gov’t in our lives?
How would Tulsi REALLY whack REAL inflation, and how would she get our oil and gas production where it needs to be? (Total US independence from all foreign sources except Canada, plus very strong exports from the Americas.)
Gabbard talks a lot about US spending on the MIC, but, take out the sending of mostly old weapons to Ukraine and even now we are barely keeping up with inflation (and not even the true inflation numbers) and are spending at near historically low levels since WW2. How does this comport with, well, China? (Of note, the Biden Admin cut defense spending vs. GDP in its 1st 2 years.)
I really see no evidence Gabbard can think long term when it comes to foreign relations. Depending on what the US does, how does Europe play out in 10 years? 20 years? Longer? - assuming she hasn’t brought on extreme instability and arms races leading to the nuclear war she so fears.
She’s clearly afraid of Putin.
How will Gabbard deal with Xi?
Gabbard has essentially no experience running a large organization.
How does Gabbard propose to manage this herd of cats on the “right”? (Well, at least cracks are showing in the Dems, too...)
Don’t get me wrong, imo all the possible VP candidates have serious policy and / or other liabilities, with maybe the exception of Dr. Carson, and with him there’s the issue of “fire”, and to some extent, age, in 2028.
Tulsi might be the biggest help in THIS election?

Great guy, that Pompeo.
A neo-con dream, a new G.H.W. Bush, former CIA director
The godfather of the neo-cons was Irving Kristol who said:

Is there such a thing as a “neo” gene? I ask that question because, looking back over a lifetime of my opinions, I am struck by the fact that they all qualify as “neo.” I have been a neo-Marxist, a neo-Trotskyist, a neo-socialist, a neoliberal, and finally a neoconservative. It seems that no ideology or philosophy has ever been able to encompass all of reality to my satisfaction. There was always a degree of detachment qualifying my commitment.
A NYC Marxist, Trotskyist, socialist liberal founded the neo-cons. The modern version is son William Kristol. Perhaps the neo-cons could offer the case for a Pompeo/Kristol ticket.
For completeness of the record, here is the testimony of General Mark Milley.

pp. 129-131
Q. Do you remember on the 6th or days thereafter any discussion of the potential implication of the 25th Amendment?A. Yeah. So I'm not a member of the Cabinet --
Q. Uh-huh.
A. -- and I have no role whatsoever in the 25th Amendment discussions, but there was at least one or two occasions when other members of the Cabinet mentioned it very brief, Like, 10 seconds, 15 seconds. And then they looked, and they saw that I was standing there, and Knowing I'm not a member of the Cabinet, they shut up.
Q. Who were they?
A. Steve Mnuchin, Pompeo. I think that's it, those two.
Q. What do you remember them saying before they --
A. It was just a discussion. They were talking about something, and then the term "25th Amendment" comes up. I'm there. I'm, like, from here to here away. And then they look; they see me. They know I'm not a member of the Cabinet, so they ceased the discussion.
Q. Do you have any idea from those or other conversations how active the discussions were, how serious a possibility the 25th Amendment implication was?
A. I -- I Don't know. I don't have firsthand Knowledge. I suspect they couldn't have been very serious because nobody ever did anything.
Q. Uh-huh.
A. And it would require the Vice President, and I certainly never heard him say anything like that.
Q. Yeah.
A. And it would require -- I think the rules are it requires the majority of the Cabinet with the Vice President or something like that, but not -- no. I just -- these are just isolated --
Q. Yeah.
A. -- very brief. That was it.
Q. The reason the 25th Amendment's available is if there's concern that the President is not competent --
A. Right.
Q. -- to make rational decisions.
A. Right.
Q. Did you ever personally have concern that the President was not able to make competent decisions for whatever reason?
A. No. Like I said in testimony, I'm not a psychiatrist. So I'm not going to judge his competence or rationality or not. What I'm good is make sure that the United States military stays out of domestic politics and will follow Lawful, Legal orders and only lawful, legal orders.
Q. Okay.

I think we have a lot of new trolls on FR.
I wish they would come up with something more creative than calling others communists when the neo-cons were literally founded by a self-described neo-Marxist, neo-Trotskyist, neo-socialist, neo-liberal.
Truth is now considered a “ profane outburst”.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yes - but it will be another expensive and tough Senate Race that we don’t need.
yes, woodpusher is the classic antisemite troll here on FR.
I have asked the mods to deal with him but they have failed—perhaps you can have better luck.
I personally don’t care so much that he’s a Hamas-loving, jew-hating POS that i disagree with — but I do care about how he spams every single post he writes with links to places like the UN and Amnesty Int’l. and copy-pastes this stuff over and over
If this is what FR is turning into..........
Yes, I know she is pro-choice and used to be squishy on 2A but as a VP, will fall in line with Trump.
If not her, I like Ben Carson, Tim Scott, or DeSantis/Youngkin.
Pompeo is a back stabbing Deep State POS. nothing more needs to be said about him
The second RINO fiddle to Lindsey Graham will be great. WOW
But Dr Carson doesn’t really play the Conservative vs Liberal game.
He’s the prototype for common sense and competence. That ain’t necessarily only Conservative.
He would be an absolute savage as the HHS Secretary with the mandate of destroying everything that aided and abetted Fauci, et al.
Actually looking back at our convo you made some good points. Could have done without the personal attacks. But you clearly know your stuff. And believe it or not, think we are on the same side.
