He wasn’t eligible in 2008 but that didn’t stop them

“ Barrak Obamma cannot be Veep because he is not eligible to be president”

Of course he is. He’s just not eligible to be ELECTED President. Read XXII and come back here and tell us what it says.

His ineligibility for the office of President makes him ineligible for the office of Vice President.

Biden faced a low bar after his debate

At this point, every Biden answer, interview and speech will serve as a Rorschach test of sorts to voters, who consistently tell pollsters that they’re worried about his age. And if people were looking for further signs of trouble, they were easy to find.

“But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

He’s NOT “ineligible to the office”.

It would have been simple to say that in XXII, but that’s NOT what it says. The drafters had just seen Harry Truman become President without being elected, if they wanted to prevent this upcoming Obama maneuver they could easily have said, “May no longer serve in that office” rather than “shall not be elected” - but they didn’t.

Rove said, “This has been decided. We made this decision a year ago.

That is an interesting statement

Technically, Obama could be appointed Vice President if the Vice President resigns after Inauguration Day. It would require advice and consent of the Senate, I believe.

He is not eligible to be President, so no…he cannot be VP.

And, an appointed VP requires confirmation from both houses of Congress. I believe the only other one that does is the EpA administrator.

“ He is not eligible to be President”

He absolutely is. He’s not eligible to be ELECTED President.

"He’s NOT “ineligible to the office”."

The original question was regarding picking Obama to be the VP running mate. Obama is not eligible to be elected VP because he's not eligible to be elected President. It does say that.
