The Constitutional Convention in 1787 of the now independent States, after months of debate and disagreement, the majority delegates finally agreed with the newly written Constitution in September 1787. That would be the informal origin of the United States of America. The formal origin is when holdout States ratified the Constitution in 1789.

Artillery has long been able to (400 years) shoot out multiple projectiles like grape shot, or even exploding bomblets, like so called cluster bombs, since WWI.

By independent they also meant united--small u. But all together fighting as one nation, with one military, one peace, one alliance, one commerce, etc., shared together and not 13 separate ones.

A shame that VetsCoR didn't work out. Great idea, but lacking support by the very Veterans we were trying to convince to Restore our Constitutional Republic. I blame myself mostly because I didn't know how to fund raise nor know those who could. It also occurred to me that Veterans would prefer to hang with their Brothers at their various lodges than deal with politics.
Nowadays, I send some contributions to various Veteran causes. It's the best I can do having failed as VetsCoR Chairman and PR representative. The biggest fail of my life.

No, the ballot issues must be resolved before the election. Remember how they tried to keep Trump off the ballot and SCOTUS intervened? This is not like challenging elections after the votes are in.
I posted the Heritage Foundation’s plan to challenge unlawful attempts to remove Biden from the ballot. Most people are unaware of how complicated it will be to remove Biden from the ballot. Freeper Larry Sweigert (LS), a history professor and author, provided a detailed list of the issues on X. Each day that goes by makes it more difficult for the switch. Strap in, it is going to be a bumpy ride.
And it matters how Biden leaves office or the ticket. Will he try to get off the ticket and remain in office? Will he step down making Kamala President? What happens to Kamala? Will the 25th Amendment be used? What happens at the Dem Convention?
I have been waiting since Thursday June 27, 2024 for ABC news to show a clip of someone saying Joe Biden lied in the presidential debate. Finally on the June 30, 2024 broadcast of This Week, Reince Pribus said that Joe Biden lied in the debate. Biden didn’t “beat Medicare.” American soldiers did die during Biden’s watch. In fact 13 American soldiers died on August 2021 during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. Biden didn’t get an endorsement from Customs and Border Patrol. Reince Pribus should have asked ABC’s Jonathan Karl “Why did Jonathan avoid saying Biden lied during the debate?”
Yeah. They were actually a nation confederacy; hence the Articles of Confederation. They did things nationally through one voice—Congress. There was no executive branch. The Constitution did not make a new country, imho, but rather a consolidated national government.
The country as a whole won its independence, and even the western places that other provinces or colonies claimed, that Great Britian gave up, where given over to that under the Articles of Confederation national government and that was the Northwest Ordinance.
The Northwest Ordinance decided what we (and not just one single state, but ALL of the States) were going to do with the land that we had acquired through the Treaty of Paris at the conclusion of the American Revolution. This land that we got from Britain at the end of the war was called the Northwest Territory and it includes most of modern day Ohio Indiana Illinois Michigan and Wisconsin.
And the question that the delegates had to answer is, “What are we (again, USA) going to do with this land? Are we going to make it a colony? Are we going to make it a territory? Can it be admitted as a state?” And they saw the writing on the wall that if they left it as a colony the Territory could eventually have another revolution.
So they say these territories can become states part of the United States. But there are some requirements;
They have to have self-government, they have freedom of speech freedom of the press freedom of religion. They’re not allowed to have slavery.
I read a very interesting book years ago on this time period, I think it was called “Are we”, or “Were we” a Nation?... under the Articles” or something like that that. There were some disputes between the states that Congress did try to adjudicate. Success on this, however, had to wait on the new national government.
