..... I have always been curious about how these states would handle Federally owned Land and buildings ... Would they simply purchase it or lease it all from the Feds??? They would likely take that back using the same mechanism the fed used to take it in the first place. It's called "eminent domain."

Mr. Lincoln and Gen. Grant may not have read the fine print on that one. Dictators don't care what the law is.

Agree, unless the structures are first put in place, at the state level, to secede, trying to do so would be futile, as the first thing the US government would do is freeze everyone’s bank accounts. Game over. I saw something the other day about a Federal court ruling in favor of States creating their own currency. I seem to recall also reading that some states are interested in creating their own currency.
That would be the first step, and the currency would need to be made out of some sort of precious metal so as to avoid the bullsh*t the US Government has done to debase the currency.
I also think it might be wise to simply stop issuing currency with dollar value equivalents, and just issue currency as a specific weight.
That way we avoid the stupid games of inflationary dollars being allowed to buy much more valuable coins by claiming they are worth the specific dollar value on the coin.

I thought the issue of secession was settled in 1861-1865 and Texas vs White in 1869. No different than a slave rebellion being quashed by the authorities. The slaves still have a right to be free.
States still have a right to independence, as articulated in the Declaration of Independence.
