So prohibition empowered organized crime and now legalization empowers organized crime.

“We all saw that coming. The Democrats in office only saw dollar signs.”

We took illegal drugs, grown by criminals, legalized it and then put criminals in charge of staying within regulations to grow and sell their product.

F’ing amazing!

There is one and only one medicinal value for cannabis. Chemo/Chronic nausea.

Cannabis works remarkably well for this. It’s impossible to use anti nausea medication when you’re heaving your guts out, you cannot keep it down long enough for the meds to be absorbed.

The delivery method doesn’t require you to put something into your stomach while it’s under duress.

There’s no other valid medicinal use regardless of what the advocates say. However, there’s nothing that works faster and as effectively as a single puff of cannabis to relieve the nausea from chemo or other life saving medications.

The answer is Taxes, Fees, Revenue. The government needs money to run, not protecting the golden goose reduces the gold! To either of us this makes perfect sense, but to the State of California who is driving major companies such as Google to lower employee head count in the State, nothing is logical! Lose these type of major high tech corporation employees who all pay taxes is absolute insanity. How will California pay for all it’s feel good programs?

Who didn’t see that coming.

There is a class of people utterly incapable of seeing even the most obvious of consequences of their actions.

They go by many names, toddlers, criminals, liberals, greenies, democrats, etc...

It sounds like the cannibis helps relax the muscles, including the stomach muscles to help stop vomiting, but couldn’t a shot do that as well, and not have the side effects connected with marijuana, not to mention possible damage to lungs?

Not in my experience. The other issue I didn’t mention was it made you hungry which also helps chemo patients from looking like holocaust survivors and helps you thrive.

It is definitely not the laise faire substance they portray it to be, but invaluable in certain situations.

"The other issue I didn’t mention was it made you hungry which also helps chemo patients from looking like holocaust survivors and helps you thrive."

My youngest son had cancer surgery in 2019 for cancerous polyps in his colon. They did two re-sections, and took out over 70 of his lymph nodes. He was on two different types of chemo, every week for six months. They gave him anti-nausea medication through his port, and he said he never suffered nausea. He never lost his hair, and gained 50 pounds while undergoing chemo treatments. I think he's an anomaly as far as the weight is concerned. It's been over five years for him, and is still cancer free.

Both my parents and one sister died of lung cancer. They all smoked. Only my sister went through radiation and chemo treatments. The radiation affected her esophagus, which made it hard for her to swallow, but she ate despite it, and managed to keep up her weight. She never suffered from nausea either, because they gave her anti-nausea medication through an IV before her bi-weekely treatments. Of course it didn't matter in the end. She was dead 18 months after first being diagnosed.

A close friend's husband was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the larynx and pharynx. He went through radiation and chemo treatments. She made sure he ate every single meal, even if he didn't want to eat, and even when he had a feeding tube inserted, she made sure he got the nutrition he needed. He lost some weight, but not a whole lot, and was able to keep up his strength. His prognosis was not good in the beginning, but it's been over 8 years since he was diagnosed, and no recurrence of the cancer. The one side effect of the intense radiation of his face and throat, was that it destroyed all his saliva glands. He can't make spit. They tried different meds on him, but none worked. He has to make sure he drinks a lot of fluids whenever he eats.
