That is accurate, but it is for the entire military combined, not just the Army.
I would say because the information in the article is false, as multiple posters above have pointed out.

I got my permanent deferment and then enlisted in the army as I had planned to all along, I didn’t believe in the draft at the time.

But the decision, a bad one, has long since been made to allow women into combat units.
Bar women from serving on naval vessels, combat positions in the Army, Marines and Air Force.
Then, I would be OK with excluding women from having to register for the draft.
Drafting women to replace men only makes it worse and will needlessly cost lives and equipment and could result in losing our nation to another.
