For God’s sake, stop measuring things by the old way of politics.
That is gone and lost forever. Independents are now ascendant and dominant both.
Trump has to avoid the Swamp commissioning his assassination so he has to make some sounds about governance, but that doesn’t mean getting co-opted.
There is ZERO reason to pick a politician. Carson is not Swamp. Flynn is not Swamp. Vivek is not Swamp and nothing else matters. When he picks one of them he will have to make a statement about how these folks can all work with Congress and work with agencies and blah blah Swamp words, all until he is sworn in and can turn them loose figuring out how to stop money flow to K Street.
I like Ron Johnson. I believe he’ll give as well as he takes.
He’s 77….what are the odds in the next 4years
“Candidates typically want a potential vice president who can ‘balance’ the ticket demographically, ideologically, or geographically.”
Screw “balance” all to hell. I want someone exactly like PDJT, or PDJT on steroids. When he is gone, MAGA needs to continue seamlessly.
2023 was very disappointing but I don’t hold a Governor responsible for individual district-level outcomes, though the liberal media has tried to blame Youngkin for such things, like the loss of a state Senate seat last year.
BTW, the GOP did pick up a seat in 2022 (2nd district). Yes, they could have won CD-7 perhaps, but anyone expecting Republicans to win in CD-10 was cuckoo. None of that has anything to do with the Governor.
If Youngkin is on a statewide ticket with Trump, THEN he would be expected to make a difference. It may not work out, but IMO it’s worth a shot.
He’s a good balance for the bombastic Trump. I like that
Very risky pick since a Democrat would replace RoJo in the Senate. He’s a good guy, but probably doesn’t move the needle enough to be worth losing a Senate seat.
You need legislation to permanently close departments like education. Without a like-minded Congress it won’t happen. It’s possible you could get a new Congress to defund, RIF employees but without legislation it’s still on the books and could easily be reestablished.
It was for me. Oh well. Rubio?! Nope, homosexual pool boy, tied to or associated with drugs in Tallahassee, and lots of other issues with him.
Manchin would certainly like that but he would be the only one. He has no draw, not even in WV.
“Carson? No, too quiet. Other roles suitable if he is looking to contribute.”
I think he’s an outstanding person in many ways, but his excruciatingly slow/quiet speaking style is almost instantly sleep-inducing.
Hate me if you want but I like Mike Pompeo
The complete package of military ( #1 West Point), legal ( Harvard JD), Congress ( served 2011-17), Intel Community ( CIA) and internal geopolitics ( State Dept)
Nobody’s fool.
He stuck by Trump when a lot of others jumped ship ( Haley, Pence, cough cough) though has been critical of some positions and a bit too close to the neocons on some issues.
He’s lost a lot of weight. Hopefully for his health. Ready to serve again.
Yes, I agree completely. Another cabinet post or maybe a nice ambassador post?
To deal with Putin Xi and the islamofascists ( including those in our govt) not to mention the democrats….we need someone with some righteous fire.
Gentle Ben is a slow simmer.
The swamp would boil him, gently
Twice a non-Democrat has run with a disgruntled Democrat as his running mate and it didn't work out well either time--William Henry Harrison with John Tyler in 1840, Abraham Lincoln with Andrew Johnson in 1864. So Tulsi and Manchin should be ruled out...and they would not help the ticket anyway.
The attempted “coup” of 2016 was actually quite successful.
We’re currently suffering the consequences of the real coup that took place.
INHO, January 6th will become infamous in future history books, but not at all for the smear campaign conducted by the democrats and RINO swamp creatures.
DJT was winning a landslide victory when suddenly, at 10 PM election night, bizarre and very unusual incidents occurred in polling places.
No presidential candidate has ever won both Florida and Ohio and then lost the election.
Then on January 6th, the coup de grace by VP Pence.
Constitutional checks and balances were thrown to the wind in order to certify a transparent and obviously corrupt process, and the Swamp power brokers have used every ounce of power to convince the voting populace that they didn’t see what they did see.
Hasn’t worked.
They can repeat their story ten million times and it won’t erase what we all saw take place.
If what they say is what took place, then why have they abused their powers to put on a sham tv show with the J6 congressional hearings?
Why did they refuse to allow testimony from people who were there?
Why did they rig the hearings with only two republicans, both of whom hated President Trump?
Why have they jailed so many political prisoners?
Such a masquerade would only fool the ignorant, those who want to believe the transparently childish fantasy they keep repeating.
In America the truth will always come out.
How many Americans still believe the ridiculous fairy tale about Lee Harvey Oswald, JFK, and the ‘single bullet theory’ that has been officially peddled by the Swamp for more than 60 years?
So yeah, what happened on J6 will always be remembered, but not at all for the phony current ‘narrative’ they keep insisting on.
Ben Carson’s a good man but he’s too low energy in my opinion.
“Whoever the running mate will be the MAGA Prince.”

I respectfully disagree. If Trump wins, then 2028 will be a brand new battle. I don’t think much MAGA will accrue to whomever the VP is. IMHO.
That was a good ticket because they represented youth and optimism.
Bush 41 was seen as out of touch after his "read my lips, no new taxes" remark.
I like Pompeo too. That Pope Francis snubbed him when he was in Rome (while US Secretary of State) enhances his stature when you consider some of the people Bergoglio is happy to meet with. That’s not to say that Pompeo is necessarily the best person for Trump to pick at this point, but he could be a potential Presidential candidate in the future.
