Ah, remember when Lincoln delivered a speech on the battlefield of Gettysburg and he castigated the leadership of the South and jabbed at his political opponents? What a memorable speech that was.

The European Parliament elections will take place from June 6 to June 9, 2024. This is a significant event, as citizens of the European Union (EU) will elect 720 members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to represent their interests in the EU’s only directly elected institution.

The British have hated Russia for200 years, since not long after the era of Napoleon. It has nothing to do with communism of the Soviet era, because the UK is completely socialist and authoritarian today.
They hated Russia under the czar, they hated Russia under the Soviets reasonably, and when Russia became a republic they continue right on hating. Churchill’s main concern was the British empire, and how the British empire should span the globe and rule the world. Roosevelt, as an American did not hold the British empire or any other imperial possessions to be sacred.

In the 1850s the British went to war and invaded Crimea to attack the Russians base there. After the Japanese Russo wars in the early 1900s, the British helped the Japanese construct a more dangerous Navy with the goal of “containing” Czarist Russia in the Pacific.
In fact, in World War II at the battle off Samar where our destroyers fought a death match with a giant Japanese fleet, One of the battleships was the IJN Kongo, it was built by Vickers in England. Other ships in the fleet were license built designs.
All the Rudyard Kipling era British wars in Afghanistan was fought because the BRITs dreamed up an idea that the czar was going to invade India. The problem with face in Iran today was started by the Brits in the 20s and kicked into high gear when they got Dulles to overthrow Iran’s first elected leader. He was a nationalist who believed all of Iran soil should not automatically belong to the UK. They framed him as the Soviet agent. That led to the shah, which led to the Islamic revolution that we have today.
The British have a bizarre two century long obsession with Russia.

There is much to admire about Churchill, but it matters of empire and passionate hatred for anything Russian, he’s just a typical Brit.

The Brits and their great game have done incalculable damage to the world.

What an ignorant ass. He couldn’t go there and just honor the men. He hast to make it about his boutique war, and about his petty political disputes. It’s an embarrassment to this country that he represented us over there. Things like this or why we have successfully turned the Russians back into an enemy.
7 out of 9 Germans killed in World War II were killed by the Russians.

The US/ British alliance is simply uncouth and no longer is about freedom.

That’s probably somewhat true. But it’s also somewhat disingenuous. The fact is, Poland had only existed for 20 years. The Russians got back what had been under the czar for 200 years. But I think the bigger goal for the Russians at that time was to try to delay a war with Germany that the USSR was ill prepared for after Stalin‘s purges. It’s probably a big stretch to say World War II would’ve never happened.
Germany was on the march and the war was coming either way.

Excellent historical overview of Britain vs. Russia (of any political stripe Russia, Tsarist, Communist and now Oligarch totalitarians today).

In summary of the Brit obsession (in WWII Churchill was right to distruct Stalin— because of the machinations against the UK by Communist labor agitators throughout WWI and into WWII) with Russia, the US has lapped up all the spilled drops from WWII of the broken Brit Empire, taking on and inheriting all the crap the Empire created. Your examples of Iran and Afghanistan are right on target.

The islamofascist Iran created by our horrible treatment of the Shah which the US installed at the behest of the Brits—centers around unique Iranian crude oil, with which, from the days of Baku/Caspian into Iran, the British Navy fueled its Imperial Fleet. Jimmah Cahtah (noted incompetent democrat) is responsible for destroying the Shah, encouraging democrats pals in islam— to create the modern globalist terrorist islamofascists we see today (with their client states inLebanon and Israel and cultivating Qatar as their “swiss bank” escrow to pay their minions.

All because the US- and idiots so out of date like joebama still thinks Russia is a threat, when it is Chi-Coms who really are (and who have designs on Russian wealth themselves, don’t think Putin doesn’t know this). JoeBama and his obama run embeds are doing the work of the Muslim Brotherhood, because the Nazis who cultivated them are still in control of Europe— the Socialists who still fight.. Russia in the name of Communism, frankly. The US is united with UK in the march of Socialism, copying UK every step domestically and promoting the destruction of our Constitutional Republic, as we waste of resources on the broken old man of Europe, Russia, to prop up the dwindling decaying UK. Biden is the anachronistic symbol of all of this as he detroys the memory of our soldiers and our Allies who defeated National Socialist Germany, only to keep the Socialism.

Britain forgets that they did nothing to stop the Bolsheviks taking Russia in WWI all because of this same persistent hatred- which has no basis in any reason other than the internecine monarchies and their petty rivalries (which started WWI, frankly).

Something else— to this day contemporary Russian historians fully acknowledge that without the massive industrial manufactured war materials (trucks, ammunitition, food stuffs) sent to Russia by the US, the Soviets would never have defeated Nazi Germany on their front. Germany would have overrun Soviet Russia (as vindication for WWI when Germany still lost, even though the German Military backed the Bolshevik Revolution to get Russia out of WWI. It of course, did not work).

Patton’s observation at the end of WWII was that we should continue to take out the Soviets— complete the elimination of all the spectrum of Leftist Socialism/Communism. He was right and could have shortened the misery of the Russian people some 50 plus years had this happened.

The truth of the matter is that at the end of World War II the Russians had the strongest armies. They were the ones who actually beat Germany, and took the brunt of everything. I am not sure that the western armies at the end of the war could’ve been motivated to fight the Russian army.

He also is all over X with video of him standing between Macron and jill biden.. and out of nowhere looks down, bends over to (nothing) reach for “something” not there.

Looks on faces behind him are incredulous and from Macron as well.

Because joeybags bent over, and crapped his pants. Jill immediately almost frog marched him away from the stage into an off camera area. Change the diapers.

Incredible anyone would allow such an interview in the first place- in the second this idiot is revealing who he is- cannot remove the scales in front of his eyes.

Russia could not have arrived at that strength without US massive military aid.

Said to be the clever calculation of FDR to get the Soviets to do the most of the dying (this said ad infinitum by Russian Communists throughout post war Cold War years. In abstract praise of the great massive and dumb brute Soviet Army).

Actually, why they needed Len Leise in the beginning the Soviet munitions manufacturing, actually caught up and did a very good job of producing what they needed to find the Germans. Last three years I’ve read some pretty interesting books on the development of Soviet industry after Stalin took over.

By the time the Soviets had been invaded by their Nazi Ally— Lend Lease had long been ended (in re: its application was to the UK prior to US entry into the War).

No- the Soviets milked US military support, banked, stole and copied it. On their own they could not have defeated Nazi Germany at the time of their piss poor reaction to Barbarossa. The German miscalculation was having a two front war— because Soviets had little they needed, aside from the obvious oil resources Germany did not have.

The Soviets went out of their way at Yalta to cash in on the bonanza— and stupid FDR and stupid Truman accommodated them. No surprise when one looks at major Soviet spies in the US cabinet (including one, Alger Hiss, who wrote the UN Charter documents! The Soviet UN working in conjunction to steer US “interests” even then).
