This town had no animal control group to contact, the article states.

Animal control would have handled it differently. Police, and peopke who kive on farms, as I did, do it a different way.

I tend to agree. Law enforcement needs to move away from the “Paramilitary” look. Put all of them in high visibility vests, and move away from the all black commando uniforms.

A dog with no tag or collar, wandering around town and unable to respond (it was blind and deaf), is a stray.

“There was a time when killing small animals and pets was regarded as warning signs of severe psychological issues.”

So you believe only vets and liberals operating kill shelters can kill animals?

Yeah, imagine the dog only sense remaining was smell. All that bobbing was not smelling his owner & probably fearing or self defense.

The police see us as the enemy. Maybe we should see them as the same.

The owner made sure it had no tag or collar and that it got out.

If you need sensitive, caring assistance do not call the cops. They are armed and dangerous and are prepared to maim and kill in the performance of their duties.

There is a lot wrong with that image.

The cop looks like he should be on a commando raiding party in Mogadishu, not a police officer in a small American town.

Get these people out of their, "Us vs Them" paramilitary commando uniforms and back into police uniforms with high visibility vests.

Make sure you get their ID (Name & Badge number) as required by their policy & have them have their body cameras on. You ALWAYS film them from a respectful distance. (usually 10ft) in their act of their duty.

Another love fest for deranged, psychotic, animal-hating freepers to show their manliness by blaming the dog and/or dog owner. I so glad none of you worthless saps are my neighbor.

There are many videos of cops simply refusing to ID. Instead of stating their name and badge number, they just point to their shirts. I don’t try to get closer to read them. Officer safety and all that.

And filming from a safe distance? Try that 10-foot rule, and a cop with a bad attitude will force you back, way back. Like out of audio range back.

Whatcha gonna do then? File a complaint? That’s just another sheet of paper that gets filed and forgotten.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about all cops or even most cops. But certainly enough to smear an entire profession.

I bet the cop feels so proud for killing such a criminal as that poor little dog

Just saw your post scrolling through Latest Posts. I agree with you. When I saw the title this morning, I knew couldn’t read the thread because the sickening jerks would be having a free-for-all. And I knew I’d cry, too, because of the title.

Tks many police do not know their own internal policies let alone the Constitution. You can log complaints and do FOIAs on cops.
