I had skipped the last part of your comment because the first part was just too risqué for me, but to answer your question: nuns and sisters did wear “habits,” as they are called, which were usually as portrayed in movies, but in the 1960s and 70s, orders began to modernize them or even allow nuns to wear regular women’s clothes.

Now more traditional nuns and sisters wear habits, but those old hippie nuns/sisters still don’t.

The habits are not always black: St Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charity wear white saris with blue stripes along the edges; Dominican sisters and monks wear off-white habits in the old style, Franciscans wear brown.
