Yes. Our worst was Irma in 2017. 70 MPH winds and lots of trees down. We’re in the safest part of Florida. But we do have tornadoes especially around the villages.
Winter Haven and the surrounding areas (Lakeland, Auburndale, Lake Wales, etc) can get hit pretty hard some years. 2017 was particularly bad. Picture lots of rain, with trees down, power out, and roads blocked or flooded and impassable. Pretty far inland, so help isn’t on the radar as fast as coastal areas. Gas and drinking water are prime commodities.
My dear mother, God rest her soul, used to have TWC and CNN on all the time in her later years. Whenever I would go there to take care of her, I would change the channels after she got an update, and then put on old tv shows or old movies for her. Or no TV. We’d go outside and take walks around the yard and look at plants and the birds and things.
Jim Cantore is the worst.
TWC is all a bunch of chicken Littles the sky is falling.
Last year during Ian cantore staked out a 2nd story hotel patio in daytona waiting for it to collapse.....when it finally did he acted like it was the world trade center all over again.....They’re all a bunch of overpaid drama queens.
If you ever want to know where a storm is actually going to hit, watch what Cantore does, because he wants all the attention.
I love the videos where the weatherman is acting like he’s being buffeted around by a storm, and then accidentally people walk on camera behind him wondering WTH is going on with the guy in front of them. They are such phonies.
“They are such phonies”
Then your gonna like this.....it’s a perfect example of what bullshit artists they all are:
