Bergum.
Maybe he'd make a good chief of staff
I posted this reply to another thread debating Trump’s VP pick.
<><><> According to Steve Bannon, who has skin in the game and is facing 4 months in prison for Contempt of Congress (for the Bannon haters about to reply) Boris Epshteyn, made mention to SB that the VP pick has been known in the Trump Camp for some time (6-12 months) and is NOT someone that has been on the radar... to date. YMMV <><><>

Trump needs to pick a running mate who would bring in a significant electoral votes he would not otherwise have, without causing loss of any others.
In your opinion, would a Trump-Zeldin ticket carry NY? (Asking seriously — I don’t know much about Zeldin’s current support).
He could do worse than picking Rubio, but Rubio’s still a RINO (as well as a resident of Florida). Trump needs someone that he knows will have his back. Rubio might help to increase the Hispanic vote, but Trump is already making inroads into that particular voting bloc.
Trump doesn’t need a VP to help him win. He’s already winning. He just needs to maintain that lead, find a VP candidate who doesn’t hurt him, and won’t undermine his presidency.
DeSantis or Rubio would be my pick.
Trump would have to move his residency to a New Jersey or New York property to make it work for 2024.
I would prefer that Trump choose a VP from the ranks of Successful business persons.
This country has more ECONOMIC problems than anything else.
HE IS NOT NBC
NOT ELIGIBLE.
RUBIO may also be in same situation.
I believe there is no such candidate, and never has been.
The choice of VP seems to have no real effect on actual voters come election day. It seems to have some effect on big-ticket campaign donors and on the backroom deals that can grease the rails for a Presidential candidate. I believe most of that effect is already in place, and the VP choice is thus irrelevant for such purposes.
And the poster known as "enumerated" in post #34 has it exactly right IMO.
"He needs a VP who the deep state hates even more than they hate him. Otherwise, they will kill him day one."
Trump isn't going to change his primary address.
Florida has laws in place to protect a primary address in litigation. Trump understands this.
The VP will not be DeSantis or Rubio unless one of them moves and that's extremely unlikely.
Posted last week that the only thing surging in the election
was the betting on: Vance, Rubio and Burgum for GOP VP.
They all came in from enormous odds to being in the top five.
Scott has been the betting fav for quite a while at this point.
It will be interesting to see what happens.

I don’t believe this in all cases. The VP can help if the top of the ticket is a turd. I believe very strongly that McCain would have gotten his ass-kicked by a much larger margin without Sarah Palin bringing folks to the polls.
I can see the McCain / Palin scenario somewhat parallel to a Trump / Tulsi ticket because there are some folks out there that will be swayed by Tulsi even though they don’t particularly like Trump.
how does this apply to the issue of electors for candidates from same state>
Agreed, he sets Vance up for the presidency in 28. The others bring nothing to the ticket except perhaps the rotten liberal establishment trash and he would piss off the hard conservative base vote. Probably not enough to hurt him but it shows he still has a blind spot for the enemy from within.
“For this reason I think it should be General Flynn, someone who knows all the maneuvers and labyrinths of Washington DC.”
He may know them but seems unable to avoid the traps
In today’s political world, natural born equals native born. Some people may not like it, but that’s just how it is.
Pity about Kristi. Her best employment opportunities are now, uh, elsewhere than elected office but something that would leverage her presence as a well-known person.
I still figure a woman. Figure = guessing lol
And I do not want a senator, ala Jeff Sessions.
Any pol can/will be untrustworthy but any given senator can be the worst, imo.
How was he able to run for president if he’s not a NBC? That is something I don’t understand, regardless of who the candidate is. How is it that when they run for president, or are named VP (Harris), that it is determined right then and there whether or not they actually qualify?
