Being Jewish is also a matter of heritage.
The antisemites don’t care if you practice the Jewish religion. If you’re of Jewish heritage or lineage, that’s enough for them.
The liberal Jews who are atheists and support leftist causes are in more danger than they suppose.
If it’s heritage too, then there are many who are descendants of Judah who do not realize it. But that does not dictate political beliefs either, of course; and I agree that antisemites do not care either way.

I’ve never heard that topic broached. I’d say Franco Spain and some of the caudillo governments in Latin America would probably be examples. And how about Imperial Japan.
Back to the socialism question, Ludwig Von Mises did label the Nazis as socialist; but he also said the same thing about FDR America. Both countries were running wartime command economies where their private sector firms were serving and being controlled by the government.
Neither were after government ownership of industry like with Soviet socialism. Hitler in fact sold off two government owned industries to the private sector.
Some political scientists think Nazism was sui generis and can’t be placed in a normal Right-Left spectrum.
There certainly could be many who don’t realize it. For the time being, they are safer from the islamists. But I don’t expect that to last because basically, there is nobody that is not within their sights. Look even at the Sunni/Shiite issues.
When there are no infidels around, they eat each other alive.
But as far as being Jewish, the issue is those who know it or, actually, what others think you are.
Last names can also give it away, or lead others to suspect. There are some names commonly associated with Jewish heritage.
Notice how the term *far left* is never bandied about.
And it is never identified.
If there is *far right* then there must be *far left*.
Weather Underground. SLA. Black Panthers. Democratic Socialists of America. Antifa. Soros Open Society. Obama.
Today’s Woke media and Progressive Democrats belong to current versions of the hard left so they aren’t going to say anything bad about their side.

That was the work of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love group in Laguna Beach. Drug dealers and psychedelic enthusiasts. People I may well have crossed paths with when I was in high school.
The Laguna Beach Hare Krishnas were involved with the Brotherhood of Eternal Love bunch and IIRC that included a murder.
