Joaquin Phoenix is an incredible actor. They lead with his name for a reason.

He and his brother, Phoenix, came from a family of performance artists who were tied up in a Christian cult and lived in Cuba if I recall correctly.

They fled both. Joaquin watched his brother die of a drug overdose while they were clubbing (in 1993). He’s never fully recovered from the grief. He suffers from severe depression.

He and his wife recently (2020) had a baby and named him Phoenix.

Don’t like his political stance here, but I do appreciate his talent.

I agree, he is an incredible actor, I have seen Joker twice, and it’s an extremely dark, dark movie. I understand that a sequel is in the works.

While there certainly are Jews in Hollywood, I suspect that many identifying as such in the United States are every bit as Jewish as Rachel Dolezal is black.

Add in the multi-million considerations that have to go into such a thing and the whole concept of race becomes very fluid.
