You will have to remind with a quote of any discussion we had about how Russia invaded Kharkiv and Kherson.
The reference is to the invasion followed by the referendum in these areas to join Russia. The MO is the same as Luhansk and Donetsk, except in those cases the invasion was overt rather than covert(little green men)
We are still taking about taking of a sovereign countries territory, then trying to add legitimacy by staging a vote. The results of which were not recognized as legitimate by vast majority of the world, then and now
As I recall during the vote to leave Soviet control even Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea voted by majority for independence in the context of a sovereign Ukraine
Just a curious pattern
