Currently, EV trucks are less than 1% of new sales and, according to the Wall Street Journal, nearly all of those sales “are in California, which heavily subsidizes and mandates their purchase.” To do that, Californians enjoy, as it were, some of the highest taxes in the nation.
The WSJ also warns that “most electric trucks can’t go more than 170 miles on a charge,” and that “electric semis require bigger and heavier batteries, which means they must carry lighter loads to avoid damaging roads.”
Lighter loads mean more trucks — are you looking forward to sharing the roads with even more semis? Because I’m not.
We’ll also need more truck drivers and that’s a labor market that’s been “tight” for 40 years.
“Electric trucks also generate more soot from their wear and tear on roads and vehicle braking,” the WSJ added. In 2020, a group called Emissions Analytics “found that emissions of particulate matter from tire wear can be 1,000 times worse than from tailpipes.”
“The implication of this test is that electric cars may not be free of particulate emissions after all.”
Xiden is wrecking America on purpose to appease his CCP handlers! He’s a traitor of the worse type!
It does seem that they’re planning for a significantly smaller population in western nations. Like, maybe a 90% reduction.
If a Democrat wins in November, we truly are in BIG trouble. Say goodbye to prosperity and freedom.
Good, driving voters to Trump’24!
Wonder what CCP has on the Bidens?
I bet this will also force businesses to move away from the relatively new and cheaper inventory model of JIT (Just In Time inventory) to having to stock up on goods in the hope that they sell.
This also greatly conflicts with DOT Hours of Service rules. A trucker may be on duty 14 hours a day, 11 may be driving. Then there’s a mandatory 10 hour break. After 70 hours, the driver must take a 32 hour break.
Now imagine, drive 3 1/2 hours then wait in line for four hours at the charger, then charge for four hours. At that point the drive can go another 3 1/2 hours. He cannot charge up because he’s on mandatory rest. The drive, who normally drives 500-700 miles in a day has gone a whopping 300 miles and wasted 8 hours charging or waiting.
Yea, great idea Joe.
If we don’t buy them, what can Biden (or any President/government) do about it? Put us all in jail? Confiscate our REAL cars? Confiscate all the filling stations?
Buffet’s railroad stocks should be doing well.
Only if they are smart enough to heed the hand writing on the wall.
Does it apply to trucks registered in Mexico? I bet not.
Mandates come and mandates go...
Regulations come and regulations go...
with each new administration, especially when the new administration is of the opposite party.
If Trump gets in, those mandates and regulations are gone on day one.
EVs are not wanted nor needed.
Mandates issued for a future that years distant, are as good as never-gonna-happen.
Any mandate that harms the economy wich harms the well-being of the country and well-being os the consumers, will never happen or will be undone soon after taking effect..
.
Well, there’s the “Tree of Liberty” and all that...
“If we don’t buy them, what can Biden (or any President/government) do about it? Put us all in jail? Confiscate our REAL cars? Confiscate all the filling stations”
Don’t give them any ideas.
Well it looks like Biden Secured his Elon Musk vote again.
Nor China.
