I strongly beg to differ. It is a very Christian endeavor to be engaged in the civic order of our communities and states and nation. Jesus said, “Occupy until I come.” We may be called and qualified to do that service unto Him through holding public office. Also the Jews dragged off to Babylon/Persia were told to work for the blessing of the host nation, as they would be captive there 70 years, and it would benefit themselves to do so.
One does not have to set aside godliness to be a politician. Many do, but not all.

This is a third-rail issue and he needs to step away from it. The SCOTUS ruled it’s a states rights issue. He’ll lose if he goes that way. Take it off the issue off the table.
