“But Angela Chao went well beyond that.”

Ok. I can agree to that. And Mitch, her brother-in-law while still alive, has gone well beyond ChiCom appeasement, considering the sabotage he has engaged in against the GOP over the years (just my humble opinion).

I don’t know, this may last past Monday as this becomes part of Mitch McConnell’s Very Bad Week.

Every car has glass breaker inside cabin.
It’s a head rest metal posts ... Practice detaching it before driving into deep water.

I don't remember what the gear selector in a Tesla is like, but that's a common annoyance in modern cars - the old, console mounted mechanical gear selectors in automatic transmission cars are gone, replaced by tiny electronic switches.

I have a freakin' knob to select PRDL in my Escape. I do not like that. I really prefer mechanical linkages for as many functions as possible. I figure that anything electronically controlled, in a car with connectivity, can be hacked.

Even the parking brake in modern cars are electronic/electrically operated. If they could, they'd probably get rid of the hydraulic brake systems on cars too (well, actually, with ABS, it can also be controlled).

Electric windows will still work under water with a conventional car.

I have no idea about a Tesla.

I’ve watched videos about those being used in an emergency.
Breaking the windows with it was not successful.
It’s exactly why I purchased a specific ‘glass breaker’.

Oh, heck, we had a 50-something fisherman trying to turn his pickup truck around on a causeway (yes it’s wide enough), at night, a few years back, and, same thing: He errantly put the truck into reverse and went into the lake and drowned B4 he could be rescued, despite other fishermen nearby who saw the whole thing happen. Nobody could break a window from outside even with a tire iron because you can’t swing or hammer a tool through the water fast enough to shatter the glass. The guy had fished there for many years.

If FReepers would be honest, there’s no one on here who hasn’t at least once made an errant shift like that. It’s just usually not when a few feet can kill you, and usually not in a vehicle with Tesla-like acceleration.

Unknown. Also depends on what is meant by “embankment.” Many a pond dam or levee gradually tapers off to nothing.

Looks like she was drunk. I suspected this.

Sheriff’s office: Shipping CEO Angela Chao, Mitch McConnell’s sister-in-law, was intoxicated at time of fatal car accident
