Look...my extended family lives in RSA; has done since whites first went there!

There was once a group of of people here, who were from RSA ( but now American citizens ) and people with family there and we used to go on threads about RSA and post the FACTS/correct the comments that others, here, made without knowing anything at all REALLY, about RSA past and present. Most have now left. But I'm still here!

This thread has LESS than NOTHING whatsoever about RSA; however, you threw in a comment that does NOT belong here and is wrong! You neither know nor have done any credible research of the history of what is now RSA. Nor do you understand what ANY of the people, now living there are like.

Hollywood and yes, even made in RSA films about historical charcters, as well as purported to be "real" ( such as that POS book and movie: "CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY" ) 1) have no bearing on what it's like there now, TODAY 2)the truth 3) comparisons to today in the USA!

The link is to a very good letter to the editor. Written by the widow of the author of the book “Cry the Beloved Country”, and why she was fleeing South Africa (1998). She said that she was sorry her husband could not see the “euphoria and love” after the elections in 1994 (blacks could vote), but was glad that he wasn’t around to see the country now (in 1998 - just 4 years later!!).

Human nature is more or less the same for ALL peoples; however, cultural differences, religions, history, and types of governance and media of any/all kinds, makes peoples from different countries very different!

Re the "common people"...even in the 1960s, even many foreigners who had traveled outside of their own countries, were well educated, and yes, even been to America as tourists, had some strange ideas about what America and Americans were like. This is still true today. And since YOU aren't an American ( unless your home page is a lie/you have moved ) please don't try to tell me what's what about America and Americans.

Re RSA's electrical grid...up until rather recently, the man in charge of it all was WHITE! The ANC had someone try to murder him, but fortunately, he survived, but is no longer the head of it.

Due to various problems, prior to his attempted murder, there already was some problems with electricity, due to many different factors.

As a matter of fact, they had a higher rater of married couples than whites. And out of wedlock births were extremely low. Add to that, most did NOT "speak ghetto", dressed well, and were good, upstanding citizens.
