I can give you an example of a 2022/2023 Colorado case where a state supreme court denied a petition for review and the US Supreme court took the case from the lower court.
Then they took it from the Colorado Supreme Court. An order of a state Supreme Court denying a petition for review is still an order of the state Supreme Court.
So then "SCOTUS could grant a stay to prevent enforcement", without Trump posting bond in NYS.
Five million Trump supporters need to donate $100 each, and when the bond is returned, President Trump can use the money for his legal bills.
“So then “SCOTUS could grant a stay to prevent enforcement”, without Trump posting bond in NYS.”
Ugh. NO IT CAN’T! Not until there has been a ruling by the New York Court of Appeals. It’s NOT HARD.

You misread my post. I used the word "could". There is indeed a POSSIBLE scenario where “SCOTUS could grant a stay to prevent enforcement, without Trump posting bond in NYS.”
"Could" is not a hard word. You should learn it.
And even if it does, does anybody actually think they’ll give Trump his money back?
:-D
