I think at this time, we are going to have 2 very flawed and undeserving candidates. While Biden isn’t firing on all cylinders Trump sometimes seems his fuel line is plugged too. I think the offset is Trump appears more energetic. Both have been famous for word salads, forgotten names and events and inappropriate statements. It’s quite sad. I do I agree he likely will not be the ultimate nominee.
I'd add that Democrats are masters at the sports concept of "fouls to give." They know how many times they can concede an issue or seat and still have the advantage.
Look at when they ousted Al Frankin over the mock groping photo of Leeanne Tweeden on a USO plane during an entertainment tour in 2006. I don't believe he actually touched Tweeden when she was sleeping (still photo perspective artifact), but the Democrats were embroiled in faking charges against Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore during his Senate run in 2018 (attorney Gloria Allred was forced to admit that her accuser client forged Moore's signature on her yearbook). Democrats knew another Democrat would take Franken's seat, so it was safe to jettison Franken to avoid the hypocrisy charge vis-à-vis Moore.
The net result was they kept the Minnesota seat and picked up the Alabama seat (Doug Jones).
That's just how the Democrats roll...

I once had dinner with a self-made multi-hundred millionaire (the sheet music industry, of all things) who was in his late 70s, and this guy also was loud, profane, a big spender, and didn't care what anybody felt about it (the "I can buy this place" attitude if people complained).
It comes with extreme success, the kind that we can never really understand. So I don't chalk up Trump's comments to a mental deficiency; it is arrogance, but an arrogance that comes with accomplishment and success.
The "word salads," as you call it, are different between Trump and Biden/Harris. With Trump, he often meanders in his speeches, tangentially deviating from his main thoughts to make side points but ultimately returning to them. With Harris, she's just vacuous and fills the space with extra words that mean nothing. With Biden, he's caught between forgetting the subject and flashes of anger. It's a common trait with dementia patients, they remember things from 40 years ago but forget what happened last week. That's why Biden can remember he was talking to the French President, but could only recall the name of the President from many years ago.
It's interesting that you don't throw Obama into the mix. Obama was called the TOTUS, "Teleprompter of the United States." Obama was a very eloquent speaker when augmented by a teleprompter (if you can look past the ping-pong effect), but he was reduced to uhs and ums and ahs when he had to speak extemporaneously. During White House press conferences, his staff eventually placed a large-screen TV behind the press seats so that Obama wouldn't be seen turning his head left and right and left and right when he was speaking on camera.

I too have known some well placed men. Some are like what you describe. Others are much more measured. Trump's mistatents are more than bravado. Such as: Trump praised the Americans' military efforts in the war against Great Britain. “Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets' red glare, it had nothing but victory.”
Thats not bravado. That’s a pure Bidenism. His claim he offered Haley troops for Jan. 6th. Trump too had had issues with world leaders. They both are sad.
Interesting, but fits the usual pattern.
"The dog that didn't bark."
Note the immediate deflection from Odiousbama, and return to the verbal assault on Trump.

“ Twice in 2017, Mr. Eiden visited the
National Archives SCIF to review his classified notecards while writing his book. Yet
he kept his notebooks, which also contained classified information, in unlocked
drawers at home. He had strong motivations to do so and to ignore the rules for
properly handling the classified information in his notebooks. He consulted the
notebooks liberally during hours of discussions with his ghostwriter and viewed them
as highly private and valued possessions with which he was unwilling to part.”
In short,Democrats admit they are traitors and embrace that fact 100%
Sad, a large portion of what’s left of America will still vote for the money grubbing traitors
So The Biden family are traitors, the democrats see it and say?
SO WHAT!
That’s fine. Enjoyed the exchange. See you around the forum.
