I am delighted to praise DJT when he does something right and ridicule him when he does something wrong. This is the latter. His sense of people and politics is execrable as he is childishly seduced by flattery and kiester kissing. Even he tells us that his process for supporting candidates is not whether they are conservative, sensible and successful, but rather that they said nice things about him. It is the mindset of a 13-year-old schoolgirl, and leads to a nearly endless string of idiotic endorsements.

I don’t think it is as simple as that. Look a little deeper. It is his way of testing people. Say nice things and/or bad and observe the response.
I practice that myself.
