People get worked up over nothing these days when they see something on social media.

lived in the Detroit area almost 50 years and never hard Detroit Style pizza to describe square pizza until we moved.
That said, I can see the complaints. I love square pizza and that looks awful.

Detroit style pizza. Its pizza with the sauce on top of the cheese. its disgustingly messy and is nothing worth going out of the way for. its basically ass backwards pizza with extra sauce.

These pizzas in different styles have been around here in S.E. Michigan for years.......
FWIW, seems like there are pizza joints every two blocks from me here in Macomb.

It looks awful, burnt probably used some French bread for a crush. Why didn’t they just have an aide go out and pick up some local pies before the plane took off.

Exactly. I always liked Buscemi’s. Jet’s is good too. I think Ernie’s Party Stores are all gone now.

“Detroit-style” pizza Just looked at that picture, that's BS! That ain't "Detroit style pizza" or any style as far as I'm concerned.
That looks like crummy, burnt garlic bread!

You can judge a lot about a man by what pizza he likes. Well, a little. Actually, not very much. Except what kind of pizza he likes.
Impeach NOW!

Don't think I've ever heard of Ernie's party store. Jet's is my go to pizza but they're at the top of the scale price wise.
I have a friend who owns two Jet's franchises up in Traverse City.

What the hec is that nasty looking hunk of bread? That's not
a pizza, that's a crime.
Maybe that's why they call it Detroit-style.

There used to be one in St. Clair Shores, another on Garfield in Clinton Township.
Now that I think about it, they may have changed their name. I worked there for a short time when I was a kid. Got fired when someone stole money from the safe so they just fired all the new people. Real braniacs running that place.

Little Caesar’s has a lunch deal. Four slices of square pizza and a pop for $5. It’s actually better than their round pizza and a great deal.

Buddy's, mic drop Buddy's is good. I used to go to their first restaurant down by Hamtramck on six mile and Conant back in the 70's before they started expanding everywhere. They were the best pizza in town back then.

There used to be one in St. Clair Shores, another on Garfield in Clinton Township. Are you talking about Buddy's?
There was never one on Garfield but there still is a Buscemi's on the corner of 19 Mile and Garfield....
Buscemi's has been around for decades but their numbers haven't increased since they became more of a party store, competing against other party stores and the growing numbers of pizza joints.
