I’ve got a medium-size Ryobi electric blower. It just wasn’t up to managing our half acre with lots of trees, so I bought a super-duper Stihl backpack blower. The Stihl cut my yard work time by two-thirds. I hauled about 4,000 pounds of yard waste to the dump this fall. I keep the Ryobi for quick clean-up of the patio, porches and drivewa and occasional blowing of debris out of the garden beds. But it just isn’t up to the capabilities of the Stihl.

They are actually banning latin American groundskeepers of dubious national allegiances but are disguising it as banning a garden appliance.

What about my Husqvarna 272xp gas powered chainsaw? It’s so old it won’t meet current EPA emissions standards for a gas powered chainsaw.

Plan on spending time in the county lock up.

Oh, yeah. Blasting pebbles and grit at your car is another one.

I assume they are buying the current gas powered ones and/or providing free electric replacements.

I recall two things about west horange sic. One getting stopped by Somme clown police captain for legally operating my dad’s car. Two, they had a jimmy buffs Italian hot dog place.

The copper gave me two hours of Aggravation over my name on my DOL as he was trying to coax me into an assault charge. Jimmy buffs just gave me indigestion!

When we lived in Buffalo area, we raked leaves onto a tarp that we dragged to the street to offload. Then we waited for the leaf suckered truck to take them away. So much better than bagging them!

The corded Toro PowerJet F700 Leaf Blower is.

100-120-140 MPH speeds, and it'll knock anyone over if they're at the business end.

In 5yrs, I've used it for leaves, snow, mulch, gravel, soil and even pesky squirrels.

I am waiting for the pushback on BATTERY powered snow blowers that will not be able to clear a sidewalk, much less the driveway.

The only good which came out of the “global warming” hoax is that we got pretty good batteries for house chores. Garden implements, drills, saws, etc. No bother with mixing gas, struggling with starting stale engines, empty them afterwards.
They are now quite powerful, so no one needs to tangle with power cords!

That’s great for the occasional house work and small yards.
Basically the electrical tool advantage is no maintenance and ability to be stored for a long time!

However the professionals work all day, they can buy expensive and powerful gas tools, they do not need to store them for any long time.
So the problems with re-starting a tool which sat in garage for a year is no problem for them!
What they need is a tool which runs a whole day, everyday. Battery powered tools are not there yet!
They are still under powered and they need many batteries to get them through the day. Big hassle!
Why does gov need to be involved?
Let the marked decide who will use what!

“corded” is the key word here!
If you work professionally, you want to avoid dragging and tangling with cords.
And Batteries are not there yet!

That’s right.
Power is not a problem; my 140mph unit will beat any gas leaf blower on the market, but a 200-300ft cord is definitely a problem. Power does diminish a little, with cord length, too.

A lot of cheap gas blowers suck, as appose to blow.
The most expensive battery blower will even be worse.

Maybe this is a plan to get the mexicans to actually WORK to get rid of the leaves..

I’m with you in hoping it spreads. The noise of leaf blowers is the same offense as second-hand cigarette smoke. When walking I ALWAYS carry earplugs in case I hear one. But earplugs only lessen the noise, not eliminate it.

I suppose many on this thread are hearing aid wearers or candidates who can’t hear the obnoxious noise of leaf blowers very well. At post-65 I value my excellent hearing, and throw the regular hearing aid junk mail right into the trash.

I even wear earplugs in our church, where the worship band can get over a ridiculous 100Db.

Same. I always have a set of earplugs in my pockets. For so many reasons.

“The Latinos will not be happy.”

They’re annoyed by the term “Latinx” that Biden uses, so I use Latinx exclusively!
