What is this, Hee-Haw news?
How is this any of OUR business?
This is not a US flagged vessel.
The cargo came from Iraq.
It is destined to Turkey.
The US Navy is not in charge of safe traffic for all flagged vessels in International waters.
FFS can they come up with a system where AIS is not solely controlled from the bridge?
Drill baby drill and stuff like this become a non-issue.
Reagan took out half of Iran’s naval fleet in 8 hours with Operation Praying Mantis in 1988. This is the way.

The is a YouTube channel, “What is going on with shipping” who appears to have pretty good info as to what is going on in the area.
There is an Iranian ship that is more or less parked in the Red Sea for the last couple of years and is apparently letting the Houthis know which ships are passing by. Yesterday it moved south shadowing a group of ships, so it does move.
There have been some American-flagged vessels that are using the route, including a Mærsk ship. Several nation’s navies are escorting shipping through the danger zone, but interestingly not China, which has naval assets at Djibouti. But then Chinese-flagged ships have been left alone so far.
Thanks and we need to be reminded of this frequently.
