Documentation? You don’t remember it?

I don’t consider telling the truth “playing games”.

I’m done with Ron. He should be honest, no matter who is the GOP candidate it will be nasty, Ron should know this and be honest. Of course the media will attack Trump, stop cowering and fight back. Like joining the Trump campaign and support him. Ron is a totally class A loser.

It’s the Dem strategy and if Ron doesn’t acknowledge it then there is no way to confront and challenge it.

Sorry Ron, you totally lost me now.

Isn’t it ironic that Trump himself is never invited on these shows?

Trump could have pardoned the J6 protestors.

But after encouraging them to come there and march to the Capitol he was too busy feeling sorry for himself and nursing his sense of grievance and did nothing

How much of $250 million in the "Stop the Steal" grift did Trump donate to the defense of the J6 prisoners?

Not a damn cent. Instead, he converted the money to his PAC and retrofitted his private jet

So spare me this garbage of how the freaking Governor of Florida has forsaken the J6 prisoners

Trump could have pardoned the J6 protestors.

How? He was only in office a few more days and nobody had been arrested yet.

Yeah, actually if its to make Trump look bad, you do. But thanks for the substance. Will read it.

In the end, I wish you guys would pay half the attention clearing out the Rino Uni Party Jerks from the GOP that you do to bashing Trump. Itd make the world a better place.

DeSantis is being disingenuous, as usual, and his supporters are more than happy to run with his narrative without fact checking. Never rely on a political ad to supply you with all the facts. For more context, here’s a good place to start.

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2023/jun/05/ron-desantis/ron-desantis-claim-that-trump-wanted-to-grant-amne/

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/426198-trump-defends-immigration-proposal-against-amnesty-criticism-from/

https://apnews.com/article/e4536bf8932e43ea89203a16d904c561

The proposed bill needs to be understood in the context of the DACA program which was set to expire in March of 2018.
Trump announced his intention to not renew it, but offered to grant a 3 year extension if Congress appropriated money for the border wall and agreed to reduce legal immigration.

Arguably, Trump’s intent on making the offer was to demonstrate the Democrats’ unwillingness to compromise on the issue, which is exactly what happened. The Democrats rejected the proposal because it didn’t give them all they wanted. BTW, the deal offered by Trump was not citizenship for DACA recipients but rather a continuation of their DACA status for three more years. The number effected was estimated at around 1.8 million.

At the time, Trump said he thought the deal could eventually lead to a pathway to citizenship for a limited number of illegals down the road (10 years or so) but that such a path would take time and would have to proceed a step at a time (i.e. The left gets everything they want up front and Republicans get nothing. See Reagan’s deal on immigration for context.)

After negotiations fell through on that proposal a series of bills offered by Bob Goodlatte, later in the year, were considered. The first one, known as Goodlatte I, addressed DACA in a similar way to Trump’s initial proposal (i.e. three year extension, but no citizenship) and DeSantis actually voted for it.

From the Politifact article:

In 2018, Goodlatte introduced the “Securing America’s Future Act of 2018,” known as Goodlatte I, and the “Border Security and Immigration Reform Act of 2018,” known as Goodlatte II.

Both bills increased border security through technology and barriers and reduced legal immigration. The bills also tried to help people who came to the U.S. illegally as children.

Under Goodlatte I, DACA recipients would be eligible to apply for a three-year, renewable nonimmigrant legal status. However, that status would not give them a path to citizenship.

DeSantis voted for Goodlatte I. This bill would qualify as amnesty under the most conservative definition because it provided a form of relief to a group of people that entered the U.S. illegally.

I figured there was more to it than what the link provided. My point remains, these people would rather sit behind a computer keyboard and lambast Donald Trump then fix the problems in the GOP. Face it, to clean up the Uni Party Rino issue in the GOP would take time, effort and a dedication to fixing issues. Its so much easier to sit back and blame everything on a scapegoat. If it wasn’t Donald Trump it would be someone else.

It would have been another lie by Meathead.
No one had been arrested by the time Trump left office.
Had he not been cheated in 2020 he would have pardoned on a case by case basis.
