To be fair DC these days is truly “diverse”—a variety of Central and South American gangs enjoy shooting for fun and profit.
Their territories are often measured in a few blocks—and you do not want to enter their blocks.
The DC police have learned to stay away until after the gunfire has died down—then they can paint the sidewalk around any dead bodies lying around—and go home safe.
Cops are not going to risk their careers or lives for a Police Chief and Mayor that does not have their back.
Point taken...agreed - although I believe the Detroit population is more like ~630,000. Downtown is vastly improved safety wise.
They thought aborting the “unwanted” would reduce violence. God wanted them, and killing them did not reduce violence.
Love reduces violence. True, corrective, two-parent love. The kind that makes a marriage work.
They have tried everything to get crime down except putting thugs in jail and keeping them there.
the city and the census bureau have been constantly at war for the last 15-20 years about the count. A study found thats its the hardest city to get accurate counts because of over 40,000 vacant homes and buildings over a large area...they even went to Federal court over it. The Census claims their most accurate count was 614,000 in 2020 whle the city claims its “well over 750,000. Independant groups claim BOTH are wildly off...and that the actual count is about 500,000. Many “vacant” homes are “mistaken” as occupied and are simply counted as “2 person” dwellings. Much Federal money, aid, and grants are tied to the totals, so you know theres gonna be “manipulation” of these numbers. The city is much cleaner than it used to be...but the actual river front/downtown is just dead...just nothing there anymore. The north central part of the city is a small pocket where the stadiums, casinos, and theaters are..other than that, really not much there anymore.
Jungle fever it’s all over the place it must cause brain rot because it sure looks like it.
RE: Washington, DC, New Orleans, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Memphis are all Democrat-run cities.

Build a wall to keep out people with guns. Strip search everyone at the gates.
No more cars, either. Not even EVs. They can be used to ram people, and the EVs tend to explode a lot. No sharp objects, either. Or string. You can garrot someone with just an ell of string.
Washington D.C.’s killers with guns belong to drug gangs and they have their own method of getting guns. No amount of government gun grabbing will touch them.
