You're old, like me.
No. This is communism..Welcome to the new USA.
In florida we have pit BBQ and gators.
You’re right... accept the state’s coin, play by their rules.
Sounds almost ‘fascistic’ or ‘socialistic’ or ‘communistic’. Nah, that’s crazy-talk, right? Right?
There are several food vendors at the stops. Not a big deal if one is not open on Sunday.
Religious harassment. There are tons of thruway restaurants closed for all sorts of reasons, including apparently simply the inability to attract workers with the pay they offer. It would be one thing if Chik-fil-A offered an exclusive service, such as if their closure meant there would be no food available on Sundays. Or if Sunday were a busy day and Chik-fil-A’s absence were causing long lines and subsequent service delays (let’s not pretend, either, that the state doesn’t target holidays for deliberate construction slow-downs). Or if the Thruway were a private entity that decided they had a financial interest in making sure that their customers had the widest selection possible (or any other interest). But the hatred of the Democratic establishment of New York towards Chik-fil-A is well known and well documented.
LOL!! That is true!!
Nothing wrong here. If the state wants all businesses to be open 7 days a week at Thruway rest stops, (makes total sense to me), then Chick-fil-A can comply or go somewhere else.
I love Chick-fil-A, would want them to stay, but this is a special circumstance.
The whole idea of closing on Sunday for religious reasons is bogus anyway. It is an INDIVIDUAL thing, NOT a corporate thing.
On Sunday they could just close corporate offices, no deliveries, no customer service, etc., BUT the restaurants could stay open. Accommodate Christian employees who feel the need to have the sabbath off. Let the non-Christians and Christians who don’t feel obligated to refrain from work on the sabbath keep them open.
Since travel occurs at all hours of the day and night, then by the bill’s logic, all these restaurants should be required to be open 24/7. There won’t be enough business to support this. Guess they’ll need a subsidy.
And 10% for the Big Guy.
What? Have you no timber rattlers? We are loaded. Gladly send you some.
One my cats brought one up on the porch (a rattler) i got home and about wet myself. Whipped out the 29 and almost pulled the trigger. Monk was sitting there ..Cats are good at killing snakes.
Thing was about 5 foot long. They get big here. I love my cats.
Monk is actually named Thelonious, yet Monk works.
Exactly.
Chick-fil-A needs to say bye-bye and leave.
Say pardner, I’ve taken a number of 12 ft. Timber Rattlers out of Bunnel in Volusia County, Fl. They ain’t near as contrary as gators. I used to hunt timber rattlers with a Colt Woodsman Target. Also came across a lot of cottonmouths. Now that’s a nasty, agressive snake. Don’t get me started on copperheads ‘cause they’re a really nasty reptile.
One of the reasons I always keep cats. They kill snakes.
Yeah we have gators here in East Texas. Alo have the Timbers but they are rarely 12 foot. Wife and I are headed near Nacogdoches Christmas day, we are going hog hunting. Rattlers should be bedded up.
Good luck on your hog hunting. We do a lot of that on Merritt Island (Cape Kennedy). It’s a big wildlife preserve but they allow hunting of certain species. I’ve alsò seen cougar at to close a range when i was unarmed. Luckily for me he was bored and just trotted off into the Spanish Bayonet. Hoping you have a good hunt and a good year.
That’s my first thought.
