An interesting comparison - there are actually quite a few historical precedents for what we see going on in America at the moment, which is why it is a good thing to study history and an advantageous thing for cultural and national enemies to attempt to subvert and alter it to their ends. With regard to the time of Weimar Germany, it is useful to note that many of those same cultural currents were present in France at the same time before, during, and after the fall in 1940 and to which they contributed no small amount. These currents set Germany up to morph into a nightmarish police state, and Vichy turned out to be a very willing slave government.

What they amount to encapsulates an ennui, an unwillingness to push back against violence, a sense that the only thing that matters in a world of relative comfort is safety and not in defending the principles that created that world. Talking back is shouted down, shouting back is met with violence, and when there is nothing left for it but to shoot back the victims find themselves disarmed long ago, and the fight becomes an uphill battle of pure survival.

Stay armed, stay educated, stay strong, and recognize as early as possible that the long-subverted engines of state that attempt to control you are not your friend.

But unless the public demands that their universities enforce on campus the Bill of Rights and the right to move freely in safety, that police enforce laws against mob violence on America’s streets and in our schools, and that the United States stops greenlighting mass immigration from anti-Western nations and extending student visas to residents of anti-American, terrorist-supporting, and autocratic Middle East regimes, then in suicidal fashion we are headed for a 1930s nightmare.

The public is too comfy to do a darn thing.
