Just the standard old communist non-stop claptrap that the UAW has been spewing for the past 85 years

We had the choice of the Communists running the Unions, or the Mob, the US Government decided that the Mob was the lesser of two evils.

What's sad is that generations later, the US government opened the door to sending our manufacturing, technology, and money to a communist nation.

(United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain compared Israel to the fascist nations of World War II)

And there you have it.

As if we’re surprised.

Sounds accurate.

Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama may not be the Antichrist but he sure does a fine, fine impersonation.

As I recall, the leftward drift of the UAW was of concern already during the Kennedy administration. Walter Reuther had cooperated with the Popular Front in the 1930s, and though he followed union leadership in a Cold War turn, he was drifting back toward the far left by the early 60s. (Hoover suspected he was a concealed party member throughout.) At that time, he and Victor Reuther submitted what came to be called the Reuther Memorandum to Attorney General Robert Kennedy, outlining a proposal to censor right-wing radio through IRS audits and FCC regulations. Phyllis Schlafly and Chester Ward mentioned this in “The Gravediggers”, there is a fuller treatment in Paul Matzko, “The Radio Right”. While RFK was Senator, Reuther got involved with Cesar Chavez and put him in touch with Kennedy. (UAW VP Paul Schrade was injured during the assassination of RFK.) It’s gotten much worse since then, of course. RFK, Jr. has been joining UAW rallies recently.

I hopefully still have either an FBI or Military Intelligence Div. document from the late 20s or 30s in which the writer/agent referred to Walter Reuther as once having been in the CP.

He later broke with them but His brother Victor was a hardcore marxist. Somewhere I might even have a small reprint of the Reuther Memorandum, courtesy of Herb Philbrick.

John Conyer’s father was a leader of Local 600 UAW but went with Walter Reuther’s faction at the big split. John Jr. was also a member of that same leftist local until he was elected to Congress.

Always suspected he was a secret CP member or one of those non-card carrying secret members.

Believe a lot on the Reuthers is in Keeran’s book.

I was once a member of The International Laborers Union of North America, AFof L/CIO. Best thing I ever did was get out of it. You're right. Nothing but thugs, slackers and greed hounds.
