As an infantry vet I long ago stopped anything with the legion. They’re commies.
I’m trying to find a place to expat too. It’s a shame that Idaho and Montana are so expensive now.
The ferries are short staffed to the point where reservations are almost always required, and even then sailings are being cancelled, often during peak times. It’s not unusual to sit in the queue for 4-6 hours. Even reserved fares are often held back one or two sailings. It’s a mess.
I lived there over 40 years, and never got to like the weather. Not even the Victoria Vortex (the Mediterranean microclimate around the greater Victoria area) could make me like the weather. There were some glorious moments, but it was not enough to make up for the rest.
Oh, and Arbutus (madrona) trees are the WORST! Drop their leaves in spring/summer, and their bark in fall/winter. What is that all about?
As I said earlier, I am SO glad to be off that rock.
