EXACTLY.
There are people who don't get this at all.
I just had some jackass on other thread who just signed up last week telling me that I am getting all worked up over nothing regarding a Central Bank Digital Currency for the USA (which I view much the same as I view this push towards EVs.
Some of us know how this plays out.
.
It has been my experience in life that if the human mind imagines it or thinks of it, it is not only possible, but in many cases, inevitable.
I am sure there are people (even some right here on Free Republic) who would say “Oh, you are over-reacting. That won’t happen.”
I would say “Really? Did you see what happened in Communist China when people wanted to travel to the big regional cities to protest the destruction of their investment in real estate (apparently, the only investment open to non-CCP citizens)? Their COVID QR codes that must be GREEN to go ANYWHERE outside of their house all changed to RED on the morning they were supposed to travel.
How fitting.
WUT? You don’t think CBDC and universal IDs is an awesome idea? Yeah, me neither.
How about someone who shadows a person they want to eliminate, and when they see an oncoming car at the crosswalk, take control of it and disable the brake and enable the accelerator as they cross?
Sounds far-fetched.
Mmmmhmmm.
About as far-fetched as someone taking control of the web page you are looking at, recording your mouse-clicks, or enabling your camera or microphone without your knowledge.
Those things won’t happen.
I recall Bose was working on an active suspension system that did just that, and last I heard a long time ago, they were trying to see if it could be used on tanks and such.
Not such a stretch if you consider ways they adjusted sound waves to their advantage with things like noise cancelling and such.
