Parents not watching kids too young to be left alone, as well as maybe not leaving potentially dangerous objects around them? Kids that age lack self-awareness and can’t make value judgements-they can’t be left on their own...
Oops- “These parent(s)...
Better to ask what was the kid ‘watching’ that he knew to stab his brother?
San Francisco leads the way again.
That is part of not leaving kids alone-the parent is responsible for what the kid sees-whether in the real world or on TV-a kid that young has no idea what is make-believe and what is not-they need to not be watching that s***...
A good neighborhood is a surprise.
Lol. Points for the Highlander reference.
Can’t watch your kids every minute. Put childproof latches on cabinets and drawers.
We had a loaded shotgun behind our front door for as long as I can remember. Knew not to touch it. It was a double-barrel side by side, 1890’s vintage. Parents drilled it into us that we didn’t touch guns or tools. When I was about 6 or 7 we went shooting 22 rifles, and I knew they were dangerous tools.
Lots of dangerous tools - circular saws and such. Learned early to stay away from those too. How much personal time do parents spend with their children?
Different world now. The babysitter is the boob-tube and phone.
I doubted that based on my memories of the place from when I lived nearby, a long time ago.

2010 census: 86% white, 0.9% black. Sounds like it hasn't changed much over the years. Pleasant, middle class bedroom community. Safe if Highway 17 doesn't kill you.
Obviously they won’t release the children’s names, but I can’t help but wonder if they were given the names ‘Cain’ and ‘Able’...
Central coast, Santa Cruz. Far from SF. Lots of riff-raff there, including motorcycle gangs, hippies and misbehaving UC students. Maybe the kids were emulating Hamas because of indoctrination, but didn't lose their heads.
Learned how on tv
Omigosh, what a horrible living nightmare.
Prayers up for all affected by this awful occurrence.
“”in what living environment does a five-year-old enter into such a state of uncontrollable rage””
Good question - ENVIRONMENT! I know this is generalizing but I remember when Santa Cruz was populated with hippies who were all trying to “find themselves”. I can’t believe there are people there who still haven’t found themselves or learned how to live normal lives and raise their children accordingly. Or perhaps the parents were the children of the “children” of the ‘60’s.... Easy for the rest of us to criticize as we haven’t a clue what goes on in other people’s homes but this certainly isn’t the NORM!
We should be praying for the parents and the other twin..and I will do so...
“”Better to ask what was the kid ‘watching’ that he knew to stab his brother?””
I believe that to be a valid question also....
Philadelphia style brotherly love
I have a twin i have her listed as SPARE PARTS in my phone
He was completely beside himself and couldn’t take it anymore!
we’ve truly gone off the rails....we’re truly are fighting great evil influences in this world...
yeah, but, but, but....people will tell you...lecture you...that today’s video games, tv shows, movies, music with their constant negativity and violence has no influence on children..../s/
