U.S. blacks have been taught to hate jews since the 1930’s thanks to the efforts of the Soviet Union to destabilize our society by picking an ethnic minority with real/perceived grievances and whooping them up into a frenzy. Which is odd since blacks have very little historical association with judaism per-se, which makes them look all the more stupid and full of hate.
Why does a school district that has plenty of problems of their own, like crime and failing students, think that they need to make a controversial statement about something happening thousands of miles away?

You might think that as “teachers” They could do some research & find better statistics.
IIRC-—ISRAEL left GAZA on 2005-—18 years ago.
Then the residents of GAZA voted in a “ONE TIME-FOREVER” election that HAMAS should represent them.
ISRAEL has been providing food—fuel—water & other daily requirements for GAZA for years.
ALSO—over 90,000 ‘residents’ of GAZA have WORK VISAS that allow them to go back & forth into Israel every day & WORK.
HAMAS & the residents of GAZA want to wipe JEWS & ISRAEL OFF THE FACE OF EXISTENCE -—HARDLY GOOD NEIGHBORS TO HAVE !!!!!
I am not a teacher-—I do not have access to thousands of pages of information about all of this-— BUT—apparently, I know more about this history of GAZA than the “OAKLAND TEACHERS UNION”.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
The blacks have been told that Jews are slumlords who suck money out of the communities. In NYC, the hasids pay no deference to the blacks (or anyone else) so there is lots of tension there, especially in Brooklyn. In the last ten years or so, I’ve seen a rise in the narrative that Jews controlled the trans-Atlantic slave trade, which beyond a few anecdotes, I’ve never seen great evidence to support that. Just my 2 cents

Great comment. As I noted earlier (post #18), I was an involuntary member of a teachers’ union for many years. And you’d think the union’s first priority would by staff and student safety.
But, no. Union officials were always going off on silly tangents instead. Having a teachers’ union comment on international events is just as inappropriate as my dentist lecturing me on what kind of shoes to buy.
Stay in your lane, unions.

Many years ago I was watching Louis Farrakhan give a speech on CSpan. Farrakhan is a nut and a racist. But I’ve got to give him credit for one thing. He knows how to give a speech.
Anyway, he was talking about the evils of slavery. And he was going into gory detail about how many slaves were treated. Whippings. Mutilations. Fair enough.
Then he rhetorically asked the audience who was responsible for all this. Hmm…I wondered who he’s going to blame. The southern plantation owners? The northern cotton mill owners? The slave ship captains? The British aristocracy?
“The Jews!” Farrakhan exclaimed. The Jews were behind it all. All those other baddies were just puppets of the Jews.
And there sat his audience, taking it all in. I really don’t know we’re going to change that sick mindset. It won’t be easy, that’s for sure.

Does the NOI have any growth? Seems like they peaked in the mid 90’s and have been on the decline since, I could be wrong. I went to HS with a mean, nasty girl who had a pathological hatred of whitey, she moved to NYC and joined NOI (late 90’s), came across her on FB maybe a decade ago and she was still in and as radical as ever, but with tons of kids.
....because Jew hating has so much to do with education....
