No it isn't. There was no reason to blow up the House Republican majority because McCarthy did a deal to extend the budget mess until November. And although Gaetz could not know what would happen in Israel just days later, he had absolutely horrible timing.
We have a slim majority with a rank-and-file that ranges from very "moderate" to very conservative. In that kind of situation, compromise is necessary for anything to get done. No faction is ever going to get all they want. And now, given the situation in the Middle East, we must have a functioning House of Representatives. It is up to the Republicans to make that happen.
Five of the 20 ‘no’ votes for Jordan were from first-term Republicans. Many are in suburban swing districts and will have tough re-election chances whichever way they vote for Speaker. Also, first-term Reps rely heavily on the RNC’s ability to raise money for candidates that support the RINO agenda.
If we want solid Republicans in challenging districts, we need to fund any Conservative Republican PACs. In addition, directly fund any solid Republican Rep who needs the money.

McCarthy gave Biden everything he wanted so Gaetz had to hold him accountable. Gaetz did the right thing.
No, he is not an elected Speaker and thus is not in the line of succession.
Matt Gaetz, and the people who idolize him, are the reason the Democrats are so successful at getting their destructive agenda through.

As GOP leader, call for a vote among members of the GOP Caucus to expel Gaetz from the Caucus. Gaetz can serve as an “Independent” and, if he wishes to make his alliance with Jeffries permanent, caucus with the Democrats (he certainly was happy as a clam speaking from the Democrat side of the aisle when he joined all 212 of them in removing the GOP Speaker that was supported by 96% of the GOP caucus).
The House has Constitutional requirements regarding the budget. They have oversight roles. What if Biden decides to send our soldiers to Israel to fight the Muslims? The House and Senate would have roles to approve or disapprove putting our soldiers on the ground in Israel. Investigations into Biden corruption need to go forward. And this is what comes quickly to mind.

The House has limited short term over site with regards to CIC and military activity. The House can not micromanage where Troops are allocated. That is Executive Branch responsibilities no matter how incompetent the CIC is.
Example: The House could not overrule Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal order.
